Trivial take, but I am kind of hating her fringe-cut hairstyle currently. I hope she goes back to the start of 143 era haircut that was such a classic Katy style.

I love that photo of Katy alongside Kamala's pic in the Pop Base post. Wonderful pic of Katy. Glad to see Katy out there for Kamala in Pittsburgh, PA!

Katy announced two South American dates for The Lifetimes Tour. I’m sure there is more to come because there’s no way she skips Brazil.

"Chained to the Rhythm" is such a great song in retrospect. It should have been a big smash for her. I was big in some European countries, but that's about it. The GP did her dirty. She should have released "Witness" (the title track) as the second single to save the era. It has an amazing instrumental. However, she doubled down on cringiness with "Bon Appetit." "Bon Appetit" was probably her first major flop.

I also thought Witness should’ve been released. The snippet before the album was released was the most exciting of the bunch. A trillion times better than Hey Hey Hey.

Yeah, that era should’ve gone: 1. Chained To The Rhythm 2. Witness 3. Roulette Then release whatever for the fourth single.
On a separate note: Katy was right, we’re all chained to the rhythm.

I remember "Chained" being way too wordy when first released and it was definitely lacking at the time. Keep in mind she was coming fresh off two albums with some of the biggest pop songs of all time so expectations were super high so she had to deliver something extraordinary and while I love "Chained" now and consider it a bop, it's no "Dark Horse", "E.T", "Teenage Dream", or even "Never Really Over". Plus it had to contend with Katy essentially coming out in full opposition of the type of music that made her popular with its "purposeful pop" tag. I think its performance makes sense everything considered. Had it followed a less successful stretch of singles and been released under a different set of circumstances it might've faired better. I still love it tho, far more now than then, but that could be because it was far better than what was to follow (but how could we have known that then). lol

I'm a CTTR stan. Love the song and the video. What a bop! But yeah, all of Katy's songs before this were frivolous, mindless fun, so I get why it threw her core fanbase off.

It opened really well, I just think they fumbled the promo and especially the rest of the era. It also feels a bit lost on that campaign train because the rest of the marketing was so goofy. She kinda doomed it with the "purposeful pop" tag because she never quite delivered on that at the end. To be fair I don't think there were any hits left on Witness past CTTR so the issue was much deeper than "do more promo".

Last week Katy announced 7 shows (4 sold out) for The Lifetimes Tour in Mexico across 3 cities in April/May 2025. Today, Katy announced several shows in the UK for The Lifetimes Tour in October 2025. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCgcCfZRY9h She’s really waiting to announce the US dates last but there is a gap in tour dates July and August, so I’m assuming those will be the US dates.
