The best thing about We Don't Talk About Bruno is its chart run. It's a massive smash hit, iconic multi-week #1, yet it hasn't hung around at the top of the charts for 9 months, it has a fast climb and fast fall (by today's standards at least), like the hit songs in previous decades did. If all hit songs acted like this the charts would be more entertaining I think. The last song to truly have this type of run was In My Feelings. Butter's run fits this mold to some extent, but much of its run was artificial. Easy On Me is right there

Easy On Me is at least going to make 30 weeks. It's fall wasn't as fast as Butter, WDTAB (which it's going to outlast), and In My Feelings. Perhaps WAP could qualify for this group, though its period of dominance wasn't as long as those songs.

IMF is the only comparable song to EOM... but yeah obviously EOM will last longer because of the new nature of the charts. Its fall is still way faster than any other recent multi-week #1 hit that had radio support

Just checked the numbers on Future's top song from his last album drop (Solitaires ft Travis Scott). He did 2.2M US Spotify streams over Fri-Sat for that song, and it ended up with ~17M for the week. His Spotify numbers for WAIT FOR U are up more than 50% from then, so... assuming the numbers are similar-ish, so far he's pacing for a top 10 debut (but probably not top 3).

This one is clear he didnβt sell 100k on iTunes unlike their Harry post but I wish they said consumed 100k units or something ".@1future, Drake and @temsbaby's "WAIT FOR U" has now moved over 100,000 song units in the US. It's the fastest selling song released this week." would have been clearer.

Lizzo is at 600k streams on spotify. Without big radio support it's going nowhere. I assume that it will more likely than not gain in both airplay and streaming in the coming weeks, but saying that it's *already* smashing is definitely an overstatement

Iβll admit I was wrong about writing the obituary too early on About Damn Time. Although I have to admit that it was weird that this song did next to nothing in Weeks 1 and 2, and all of a sudden caught traction in Week 3. That never happens in this day and age.
About Damn Time is going to be huge. My classic R&B station played this song on Friday and it rarely ever plays new songs. In fact, I believe the last time my classic R&B played a new song was Uptown Funk in December 2014, and we all know how big that got.

It's climbing very nicely across 5 formats - Pop/HAC/Rhythmic/Urban/R&B. The fact its streaming is now matching its radio gains will only help propel it up the Hot 100.

The best thing about We Don't Talk About Bruno is its chart run. If all hit songs acted like this the charts would be more entertaining I think. Although personally I'm starting to think it's not as big as Let It Go after all. Let It Go had a lot more longevity if I remember correctly. I think let it go will end up being bigger. A huge difference is that let it go had huge momentum from theaters (1.2 billion + box office), then huge dvd sales which arenβt a thing anymore, then tv showings, + awards. Iβd even add the rushed theme park song along attraction helped Encanto didnβt do huge numbers during its brief theatrical run for understandable reasons and went straight to Disney+, so the legs are going to be different.

This bares repeating There's gonna be nothing left on the charts but album cuts, Heat Waves, and Stay π I think we should start guessing which songs WONT fall off the charts because it's not like there'll be a lot

I predict that the twin album bombs from Jack and Bad Bunny will be the chart event that finally kicks Levitating and Save Your Tears off the charts for good, so long as Future's album bomb doesn't do it first. Good 4 U is also in danger of barely missing out on making the 52-week club.
More likely this week we will lose Buy Dirt (if it doesn't leave the previous week), Sand In My Boots, Fancy Like, You Right, and I Hate U.

Wouldnβt the album bombs of week one be replaced by the album bombs of week two, which would be replaced by the bombs of week three, and so on? Other than whichever songs get pushed out/off after the first week of bombs, assuming there are minimal album tracks that linger, are we expecting everything to be out after this series of big releases?
