We'll see what the top predictors turn out, but my read is that this week's #1 could be any of 3 songs: First Class not dropping hard enough after the album boost, As It Was maintaining, or N95 blasting in. All are in the 28,500-30,000 range in my figures. In any case, this is shaping up to be another chaotic top 10, with 5 debuts, 4 from the album and Morgan Wallen potentially challenging for a career peak and thus first top 5 appearance.

I think the 39.6M streams figure is an underestimate. I think the number will be closer to 45M, and N95 has this in the bag. Also, it wouldn’t be a good sign for the charts as we head into the summer if the #1 has less than 300 points after 4 major albums in 3 weeks.

The only reason I only track Spotify is because they give the actual streaming numbers unlike AM.

I wish all the other platforms would have their stats readily available like Spotify. It's legit the main reason I even use Spotify lol. We stan transparency. (Which is also why Mediabase > BDS for me.)

That would be a huge fail by Kendrick. Keep in mind, Harry had to put out a limited edition 'As It Was' digital download with alternative cover on the iTunes store to try to hold off Future, and that wasn’t enough. N95 debuting below AIW and FC isn’t a good look for Kendrick.

He’s only ever had one #1 as a lead before and it took one of the most iconic hip hop songs of the entire decade to do it. Sure a #1 from this album would be nice but he’s not an artist whose career lives and dies on hit singles, whereas Harry and Jack very much are. TPAB is widely considered his best album and its highest song only hit 58

He only needed about 300 points to beat out AIW and FC this time around, and he couldn’t even manage that. Oh, and Kendrick’s 2nd week numbers are going to be worse than Bad Bunny’s 3rd week. No matter how this is spun, it’s at the very least a disappointment for Kendrick.

Also, Humble was already released as a single and was very successful. Plus, it had good radio and a music video.

You have to look at how strong a song is for the time and As It Was and First Class are actually very strong #1's for the current era. Both of them have had weeks at #2 that would have beaten any of WDTAB or Heat Waves' weeks at #1 and several of Stay's and Easy On Me's By comparison Shape Of You was a pretty mid #1 by the time it hit week 12. If it had beaten SOY around week 6 or so that would be a different story

It'll be a little bit of a bummer if N95 can't get to #1 but yeah Kendrick is much more of an album artist than a singles artist anyways so it's not the end of the world if it's only top 3. Should also be an indicator of how big As It Was is gonna be next week if there's already a good chance it's at #1 this week

I don’t think Humble beat out Despacito, IIRC, Despacito was just starting to blow up around that time but it didn’t hit number 1 until a few weeks later.

I think Kendrick is performing just fine. There is no blow here. I’m not sure why we overhyped his commercial expectations/crossover appeal when in fact he’s only had one era that performed to that level back in 2017. To me his commercial success is similar to Travis Scott. They both had some crossover appeal but at the end of the day they remain strong Urban/Hip Hop acts. I’m not sure why people were thinking he was gonna do Drake like numbers.

Not sure how 4 top 10 debuts is a fail. Sounds successful to me.

Any idea which artist has accumulated the most Hot 100 points so far this calendar year?

^Not quite the answer you're looking for, but going by the Year-End Hot 100 YTD predictions, it's Ed Sheeran. He has 2 solo songs in the Top 10 YTD. My guess is the next artists closest to him, it would be Doja Cat and Lil Nas X. Several artists that would be in the running only get partial credit for songs with multiple main artists or as featured acts.

If 4 albums in 3 weeks can’t keep the #1 above 300 points, it’s only a matter of time before we see the first sub-200 point #1. Also interesting to see if Doin This and Hrs and Hrs go recurrent, or if Billboard will consider these songs as stable enough to chart another week.

mikerivera Do you have the real points estimates for the 1997 and 2017 Top 10s? Also, where was IBMY‘s position that week?
