How many first singles the Drake album can have? 2, 3, 4?

The album might have some long lasting tracks but the album as a whole seems doomed by his standards. it's very rare to decline from Sunday to Monday on Spotify.. Even Post Malone's latest increased 3% and we know how that one underperformed.

Why are you so upset? Massive is going for adds on Pop radio while Sticky is going for adds on Rhythmic/Urban radio. What's so hard to understand about that? Falling Back wasn't an official single. He just shot a video for the song.

I like Beyonce's song. It is going to be a hit. It is not going to bring house to the forefront of the industry altogether, though. I still think that disco pop is going to be the dominant pop retro sound

The radio decisions remind me of the More Life run when he wanted to push and make Free Smoke a thing the same way with Falling Back but instead the fan favorite was Passionfruit so he decided to focus all energy on that instead. Although Sticky is a nice single choice, Massive isn’t what most people like from the album obviously so he’s taking a little risk with that, but i’m sure it could work out for his casual listeners.

I guess he’ll just pull a Wants and Needs with Jimmy Cooks which for Drake, i think he could pull it off. If it does go to #1 that’s even more bonus points. The album overall might not be a success on streaming, but the singles could play a huge part in this era especially if they’re going at it as smart as this.

She is not insane. She is not going to put out an album that is all house. I expect it to be uptempo. I do not expect all of it to be 90s dance songs because that will become really monotonous

Beyoncé as an artist performed better on AM compared to Spotify in the past. Do you guys think that’s still happening with this song? With BMS being more pop-leaning, a danceable song I could see it having a great Spotify debut, let’s say 1,5M streams first day in the US, 5M worldwide.

Isn't hip-hop the most streamed genre on Spotify, too? The song is going to do fine, but I do not think for that reason

No but honestly, I think that the sound that Abel could explore on his next project shoegaze. He's already dabbling in dream pop, so that could be the next step. Alternatively, he could continue with the 80s inspired sounds, and go even deeper down the city pop lane. Honestly, city pop being the biggest thing in music this decade would be a dream come true

I think Beyoncé was smart for rolling out the single mid-week. No one will expect it to debut at #1 mid week with no music video. My bet is she has a huge music video in the works that they expect will go viral. I suspect it will drop on Friday and then there will be a huge second week boost on the Billboard Charts. Or she could even be saving the music video for when it’s closer to album release time. Either way, I would not count her out of a huge hit just based on a mid-week performance.

From the looks of it , everything seems solid. The song is good enough to become a hit, and there are certainly viral like lyrics/moments in the song that Tik Tok will eat up. If the music video is a serve and she has choreography, there’s no way I can see this flopping in the long run.

If the whole theory about Abel giving up “The Weeknd” as his persona after this next project turns out to be true, then i think he’ll probably do something that’ll resonate with most of his fans. Meaning that he’ll probably mix the sounds of Trilogy with Starboy and After Hours with this next project instead of trying something new like Dawn FM.
