Is drunk in love considered her last pop hit? last top 10 is actually "Sweet Dreams" from 2010.

I forget what kind of influence her remix had on its success, and I know the credit didn’t last long, but she also had Perfect in 2019. And as mentioned, Savage in 2020

I struggled to listen to the song in it’s entirety, not for me at all.. way too long repeating the same lyrics over and over again.. Sweet Dreams shits all over this!

Lol right. If stans were just like, "I love the throwback to 90s house music" I'd get it. But the overpraise by acting like she invented a new subgenre of music or something is what gives stans a bad rep and makes people resist her. I mean, if you have something that a lot of people like, it feels like overpraise just because a bunch of people are voicing positive comments about it. It's like the Adele situation. Nothing she did was groundbreaking but most people who've heard her like what they hear. Does it mean she's overpraised because not as many people are saying they don't like her? You seem offended or put off that people are liking this. Pointing out songs from 30 years ago isn't going to change anyone's mind. People like to have their own generational version to relate to. Just because One Direction did exactly what the Backstreet Boys did, who did exactly what New Kids on the Block did, doesn't mean people can't still like them because they exist for that particular age group. In Beyonce's case, she's helping bring back a style of music many of us have either never fully experienced firsthand or feel nostalgic toward. No harm done. My apparently old ass has been outside a long time, and if I’m bothered by anything it’s the dismissal of the 80s and 90s house music pioneers that happens when people act like Beyoncé is doing something brand new. Of course enjoy moving to this new song, but also keep in mind the gospel roots that were always in house music. Let’s give the likes of Frankie knuckles, Robin S, Alison Limerick, etc their due (or if we’re not, then let’s at least not act like they didn’t exist). Of course enjoy moving to this new song; I never said otherwise. I’m just referencing the posts saying this is Beyoncé creating something we haven’t heard (and yes, some of that comes from stan twitter; I also don’t know who Jbac or whatever is).

I’ve seen their names mentioned in response to this song more since Monday than I have in the last ten years combined, and for good reason obviously, so I think you can sit back and enjoy a few minutes for yourself there. You’ve earned it. All the thinkpieces and responsorial articles are around the corner on this song anyway — both good and bad, so I’m 💯 confident you really don’t need to worry.

if anyone likes this song for whatever reason make sure to check out how a true artist does groundbreaking house music back in 2013 It features a one person choir at the start, and Katy herself is a bisexual woman which is similar to the Big Freedia feature I hate you so much 💀💀💀💀💀❤️

It's standard Pop EDM. lol

Lol these past couple of pages have been QUITE the read!
1. This song is not groundbreaking (there's honestly no counter argument imo, would be interested to hear one!), but appreciate that some may not have heard its influences before and that's fine. Those calling attention to it are not trying to belittle others enjoyment of the song. 2. Walking On Air is great and should have been given its moment. Again, not groundbreaking (I wouldn't say it's standard EDM pop either), but a solid throwback.

Maybe someday it can have a RUTH moment.

Y'all are REACHING, don't hurt yourself. 🥱 I didn’t even say groundbreaking but it’s funny that a handful of people had weird meltdowns over it, lmao. What I meant by ‘breaking new ground’ is that nothing sounds like this song at the moment, if you factor in every vocal sample and instrumental detail it’s definitely very new, especially for Beyonce herself. It’s not like she just invented a new genre— quite the opposite. She released a masterclass in a currently existing genre.

last top 10 is actually "Sweet Dreams" from 2010. Perfect and Savage say hello. Her song. Not someone else’s song she is featured on.
