How long of a chart run would it need to top those? It looks like it's well on its way to becoming a YE hit, for example.

DJ Khaled really wants to give God the credit on his new album, alright then. This man can get anyone in the industry to work with him and he still puts out garbage while literally not even doing anything i don’t even know how he does it.

Excl Christmas songs, Running Up That Hill appears likely to become the biggest reissued hit since Bohemian Rhapsody, December 1963 or Unchained Melody in the 90s Is it not already bigger than "December" and "Unchained" considering they didn't make the top 10? Getting really specific LOL If we assume peak positions do not tell the whole story about which hit is bigger - I can't answer the statement -- you deecide For what it's worth: December 1963 reissue charted 27 weeks Unchained Melody was big enough to have two recordings in the top 20 at the same time

A collab that actually makes sense. Also... If they're lucky, Stay With Me could be the That's What Friends Are For of the 2020's. I'm also liking that Khaled clip. Am I crazy for thinking the music was strangely brilliant?

"Running Up That Hill" increasing in streams on spotify again and widening the gap between her and Harry there. Come on #1 this week please!
Also Lizzo being so close to the #1 slot too! Kate followed by Lizzo for the #1s on the Hot 100 please. *_*

This upcoming week would’ve been a great shot for her album to help give the song a streaming boost. I’m worried by July 15th Kate Bush’s airplay will be too strong and she will be “running up” for #1.

Tbh I’m fine if neither doesn’t end up being #1 anyways. The fact that they’re both just in the top 5 alone is already insane. Kate Bush getting a deserved re-peak on the charts and Lizzo actually getting a proper hit that is also in the same year that it released. Both these songs don’t need a #1 title to their name if they can’t get there because they’ve already won.

But then again when the "upbeat" hits this year include Bam Bam, Sunroof, Get Into It (Yuh), Late Night Talking, I Like You, Big Energy, any of the Encanto songs that were hits, maybe it is fine just listening to the sad songs than forcing myself to pretend to be happy and listen to any of those songs again.

The charts would look dramatically different the next week, as Drake released Scorpion. The #15 song this week, Plug Walk, went recurrent as a result of Scorpion. It remains the highest song to fall into recurrency.

6(+1) Metallica - Master of Puppets 898,009 (+73,475) So, how high are we guessing Master of Puppets is gonna chart? The Spotify numbers alone are probably enough for it to chart, and it's 22 on Apple Music.

Hopefully, this will reach the Top 25 soon, but it’s not worth trying to guess and get another warning that will get me suspended for a week. (Apparently, you can’t do that on here because it “derails the thread”.)

Really hoping that radio can help out Glimpse Of Us, of course it's doing insanely well for a Joji song but I'm hoping it can avoid a Good Days type run, which is exactly what it looks like is happening right now

I would def say the charts were boring the first few months of 2021. But if you are still complaining even though we now have Drake, Beyonce, Lizzo , Jack Harlow and a dominant Harry being thrown into the mix, along with an unprecedented revival of “Running up that Hill” then I’m afraid nothing is going to satisfy you. The charts have not been this vibrant in a long time. On top of that, this is the most efficient I’ve seen radio in a very long time. They are reacting quickly to everything hot and trending. All the streaming hits are huge radio hits and Vice versa, at a much more rapid pace. Even “Running up that hill” is now a huge radio hit. If anything, I am really happy with how all fronts are moving at this point. Yes “Heat Waves” is there and it’s annoying, but I’m not surprised. The song is stream bait for weather moods, which for whatever reason have longevity (I call it the “Sweater Weather” effect).

I don't know if it's telling of me or how miserable this year is that outside of RUTH (which is also the only hit this year I've actually found myself dancing to), the only other hits worth I've cared about have been an upbeat sounding song that's actually about how numbing it is to cope with depression and suicide, a indie country song about a relationship that may or may not even be worth fighting for, and another depressing piano ballad. I'm don't usually think like "the politics of the day directly influences what's popular" because the past 6 years have also been s**t but there've still been upbeat songs I've found fun and dance worthy, it's still ironic to think about. That project came and went. The charts are hardly vibrant. If you want to see something vibrant, look at that 2018 chart, which Drake totally obliterated the following week.

Oh so now people want Drake to dominate like it’s 2018 again? Would we then complain the same way we did back and beg him to go away with a possibility of the charts going stale again?

I've been saying pop music sucks this year since April. I started chart watching over a decade ago (wow that blows my mind), & it's never been this stagnant. There's great stuff being made this year, but the masses are lame, so none of it charts

There's only 1 new Beyonce song & it's just a 90's throwback. Yes things are better than they were a few months ago, but that was rock bottom. Charts are still stale. The last time things were vibrant was last summer. Also, radio still plays 10 songs or so on loop all day, so that format's not getting any better either

I guess the 2022 has been a slow year for certifications of recent songs and maybe some haven't bothered to pay RIAA for it yet:
