Good thing you said "for me" because Ludacris absolutely gave his worst on pop songs to most of his die hard fans. He was mostly disposable on those songs. His talents are much more than his Pitbull/Carrie Underwood/Justin Bieber songs.

Tbh u could say this for all rappers. I already mentioned Kendrick's awful guest features but the same applies to Kanye, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Young Thug, Snoop Dogg, Nicki, Busta Rhymes, T.I., any of the Migos' members. Even the ones that give 1 good pop guest verse, or ones with who's style does lean a bit more pop like Cardi or Doja, they're not invulnerable from phoning in a pop single or pop guest verse.

There are great pop-rap crossovers but I think we should just expect rappers to not bring their A-game when they collab thus when they turn out decent, we can be surprised.

Although interesting that Rosa Linn is the one to have a breakout hit seeing as how she didn't even place in the Top 10 of this year's finals

On Super Freaky Girl likely going top 5

It looks like Dr. Luke doesn’t really have any industry blockers anymore. I doubt like a superstar like Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande would work with him right now, but given Doja seems like a likely bet for star status of the 2020s and Nicki was that 10 years ago it seems his bar of career blockage is really high right now - it’s not just relative nobodies trying to establish themselves like Kim Petra’s working with him anymore (I love Kim Petras but compared to Doja/Nicki she’s a nobody especially as far as charting goes)

to be clear this stat only relates to songs from Eurovision charting. if the question is "Eurovision acts" charting, we have examples like Olivia Newton-John hitting No. 89 in 2010 as a feature on Glee Cast's cover of "Physical," or Celine Dion charting as recent as 2008, and hitting Bubbling Under in 2018 with "Ashes" etc.

I don't think any recent Eurovision acts managed to chart with a non-Eurovision song other than Måneskin, whose cover of "Beggin" is actually several years older than their Eurovision song "Zitti e Buoni" (so wouldn't necessarily call it "a new song"). last Eurovision act to chart with a brand new release is probably Celine Dion in 2007, with the title track of her tenth English album, Taking Chances reaching No. 54.

with how RUTH’s streaming has been consistent for months now as well as sales…and how radio ACTUALLY picked it up because the song doesn’t sound out of place on today’s radio tbh…just goes to show the song was destined to be a smash one day and just needed the right moment. which was 27 years later 💀💀

i think this is an actual case of an artist making a song that was ahead of their time…

Truly amazing and shows how historic this resurgence has been. Honestly, it sounds like it belongs on current music, I hear it on the radio between Doja Cat, Harry Styles, Lizzo, it doesn't feel out of place, it's truly a smash of this year, not just a quick viral song.

Honestly, it sounds like it belongs on current music, I hear it on the radio between Doja Cat, Harry Styles, Lizzo, it doesn't feel out of place, it's truly a smash of this year, not just a quick viral song.

so far, we are in an 80s inspired decade, where the biggest pop songs (Blinding Lights, As It Was, Kiss Me More, Don't Start Now, Save Your Tears, Adore You, Stay, Bad Habits, Levitating, About Damn Time) are inspired by the 80s, just like the biggest TV show and movie of the year (Stranger Things and Top Gun).

So, hearing it on the radio in 2022 isn't that much surprising (IMO), and for example, I wouldn't even notice if they play I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Self Control or What A Feeling after About Damn Time.

as an artist he never went top 10 but as a writer and producer he reached #2 with Party All The Time by Eddie Murphy and In My House by The Mary Jane Girls which reached #7. also as a writer he went #8 with this song sampled by Hammer U Can't Touch This.

Super Gremlin might be one of my least favorite hits of the 20s, but portraying this as a fight between Rod Wave and Kodak is absurd. I doubt Rod Wave nor Kodak cares about the result of this nonexistent "fight"
