This is really good! Especially the second verse. I feel it would have been better though without the main hook already being released. Hopefully she didn't miss the window for this to be a hit

I said this already in the Rhythmic thread but this is the side of Nicki I've missed this year. F-U-N. I hope the eventual video is fire too.

Awful lead artist, awful producer (both awful people who side AGAINST sexual assault victims). Her evil, narcissistic ass is the Trump of rap (even Trump is at least pro-vaccine unlike her lmao), thus I'm rooting against this one This article said it phenomenally www.thedailybeast.com/nicki-minaj-super-freaky-girl-review-the-dr-luke-collab-is-a-total-misfire"But perhaps the worst offense of “Super Freaky Girl” isn’t Minaj’s inability to grow as an artist... It’s that the song is co-produced by Dr. Luke. You know, the disgraced hitmaker who’s embattled in several ongoing lawsuits after being accused by Kesha of sexual assault and emotional abuse... In the years since Kesha filed her initial lawsuit, several artists with a history of working alongside Dr. Luke have refrained from collaborating with him, while others have seemingly stayed loyal, perhaps out of meeting the requirements of publishing contracts. It would take no effort at all for Minaj to abstain from a Dr. Luke production, but she seems to enjoy being a contrarian, who aligns herself with alleged and confirmed abusers. In the past five years alone, Minaj has collaborated several times with convicted sex criminal Tekashi 6ix9ine; bailed her brother out of jail after he was charged with raping a minor; and been entrenched in a campaign to silence the survivor of her husband’s sexual assault, after he was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995. Minaj’s pattern of working with and supporting the repugnant men around her is disturbing, to say the least, and it washes “Super Freaky Girl” in a dingy, unflattering light. The lyric “His ex bitch went up against me but she didn’t survive” is particularly sour, given the accusations brought against Minaj and Petty by Petty’s victim. With her career in flux and her personal life making far more headlines than her music, Nicki Minaj is in a state of desperation, one that not even a Video Vanguard Award at the upcoming VMAs or a retconning, self-produced documentary series will be able to change." oof. Making Satan look like a saint in comparison this 2018 article also said it well which you can read here the97.net/now/reviews/album-review-on-queen-nicki-minaj-dethrones-herself/

Nicki is a pretty legitimately terrible person so it does not surprise me that she is coming back with a Dr. Luke collaboration lmao. It is undeniably catchy so we will see though.

I've never been much of a fan of Nicki's music in general, but yeah, it's gross that she felt the need to work with Dr. Luke when as you said, she's successful enough that she could have completely avoided it.

I don't really want to weigh in on this but that tweet is wrong. The article says it was co-produced by Dr Luke, and the person in the video said they co-produced it too. The tweet says the person in the video produced it, which they didn't say

She's unfortunately signed with him too. But, yes, let's leave this alone and enjoy the bop!

The Nicki hate train was in 2018 dude. Yes, Nicki is not perfect. Clearly not perfect, but I don't thinks she's terrible. It's not as if SHE was the one actually committing these crimes like this. Nicki just associated herself with them. But hey, don't like, don't listen. That simple. Like I said, Nicki ain't perfect. I've no problem if you don't like her, but did you come all the way here just to complain about it? Because assuming you have a strong dislike for her, I'm thinking you still actually listened to the song. But why would you take time out of your day to listen to an artist you have an obvious strong dislike for? Weird. And about the Dr. Luke thing, where was this energy when Doja Cat collabed with him? Say So happened, remember?

Doja gets the Dr Luke complaint constantly. She said recently on social media that he is getting credit for contractual reasons and hasn't really worked with her in years before backtracking and deleting (probably her team doing PR work). She's probably locked under contract and making the best of it before legally being able to move on.
No idea why Nicki who isn't under contract worked with him but she's married to an actually convicted sex offender so working with Luke wasn't shocking news.

It’s trying to be Anaconda Pt 2 and failing. The hook isn’t good enough and is only listenable due to the sample. It’s mid.

No idea why Nicki who isn't under contract worked with him but she's married to an actually convicted sex offender so working with Luke wasn't shocking news. Yeah that's what I read about. Dr. Luke has an obvious ego. But the point was obviously not me trying to drag Doja Cat, was just bringing up an example. I just don't understand why people still act like it's 2018 when it comes to Nicki Minaj making her out to be a horrible person or something, when there are tons of male rappers (not just trying to play the woman card) who are far more toxic than a person like Nicki Minaj just associating herself with these people. So I guess it's selective with some people on the internet when it comes to who they want to criticize. Like I said, the girl ain't perfect. But damn. Just don't listen and leave and let the rest of us enjoy the music. But as for the song itself, I actually really like it! I never cared for Anaconda, but I'm gonna have this on repeat. She is even most likely performing this at VMAs.
