Very stable would be what, three weeks by her standard? Still no video, and an upcoming VMA performance/vanguard award. Radio is going big now too. This looks like it will be around for a while, so you better be ready to remain salty for months to come. Also I find it funny that you think her βstandardβ is 3 weeks in the top 10 when back in 2012 βStarshipsβ broke the record for most weeks in the top 10 without hitting #1. I believe that record was only recently broken by βLevitating.β But then again I guess Nickiβs career is so long that maybe you just forgot about her earlier achievements. We certainly canβt say that about some of the newer flash in the pan careers. |

We certainly canβt say that about some of the new flash in the pan careers. Nicki Minaj had a few horrible years (2019 to 2021) of set backs and songs that flopped really hard. Usually when this happens to an artist their career just ends eventually. Katy Perry had her few bad years and the entire public/industry just completely wrote her off. The fact that Nicki Minaj has possibly survived that horrible era of blackball and failures just means she is a TRUE LEGEND. People will always hate her but the fact is undeniable. Her career has survived far beyond the average artist of ANY ERA. |

Super Bass, Starships, and Anaconda all had impressive runs in the top 10. If spending its first 10 days in the Top 3 of Spotify isnβt an indication to you that this will be a stable hit then Iβm not sure what else would. |

People are saying that they expect this to stay in the top ten until November, I think it's a bit premature to judge it that way. At least in the contemporary world I don't have to consume the song at all, though. define November πππ One person in the YE thread said: I have a feeling it'll stay in the top 10 for the rest of the billboard year, so actually I do think Nicki will disrupt my predictions. |

She does only have five songs that weren't a feature or co-credit though to hit the top ten, and the last two spent a week apiece in the top ten. Even if this one is her biggest hit since Anaconda, that only spent 8 weeks in the top ten, so three weeks is hardly trolling her when it comes to a reasonable expectation of her longevity as a solo artist.

A lot of people will probably bring up Drake who also has tons of Top 10 hits with co-credits/features but he also has tons of actual solo hits, not just his one-week wonders, hell his whole 2018 run was pretty much solo, zero features on his 3 #1 hits that year (God's Plan, Nice For What, In My Feelings).

I don't think this song is quite the formidable cultural conversation that one was. We'll obviously see how it turns out though. Well, obviously I know that, but I think about how long First Class was in the top ten. Or how long Wait For U has been in the top ten. Those are probably better comparisons. Nicki definitely has a hit on her hands with this one tho. |
