I just got an email from Tickemaster saying that because I was a verified fan that failed to purchased tickets, I'll be given another opportunity to purchase 2 tickets soon. Details to come on the 23rd. She must have worked some things out with the tickets that were not up for sale after general admission was cancelled.

I'm not sure if it's a personal 'Christmas freeze' but I've lost interest in the majority of this album - not one of her greats.

There’s a lot of really good, high quality stuff here but I think this may be where the retread of it all is making things wear a bit more thin. As in, individually, I love almost all the songs — but as an album, I don’t feel quite as magical about it and wanting to live in it. I feel like with albums like folklore, evermore, Red, reputation, you could really live in the worlds of those albums. (Another reason I don’t think Lover is that good is I find the sonic world it tries to build a bit inconsistent.) I feel she tries to build the sonic world with the Lavender Haze-Maroon intro, and it generally continues through Midnight Rain, but the back half of the album loses me no matter how much I love Bejeweled and Karma.

LMAO, this coming after those "HER MAGNUM OPUS, HER BEST ALBUM EVER!!!" posts is kinda rich.
But yeah, this album lost a lot of luster for me after repeated listens. It just doesn't hold up as one of her best IMO.

The album that never ends... I mean 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY' out now!

I still very much love this album. I was ambivalent of 'Evermore' because of how similar sounding it was to 'Folklore' however the exploration Taylor did on 'Midnights' was a highlight for me.

I still firmly believe 'Midnights' is Taylor Swifts best album to date. By a huge margin. I'm probably in the minority on this topic here but it's a hill I'll gladly die on. Lol 😂
I still listen to 'Midnights' like all day every day. The 3am edition definitely elevates the album compared to the standard version but still a career highlight at minimum.
I don't know which 2022 album I love more, 'Midnights' or 'Renaissance'. Both are instant classic album to me. I would add 'Fine Line' and 'Future Nostalgia' as the best albums of the decade so far. These 4 albums are just iconic to me.

Midnights just gets better with every listen for me. I laugh when I look back at my first listen and being so lukewarm on it. My fav Taylor album changes all the time but Midnights is def in top 4

Funny because I also feel the same way. I’m not sure I ever felt it was her best album but I was open to concluding that with more listens and it never really did… http://instagram.com/p/CmAQkuYvtGp

Yeah, to piggyback to what you said about Lover and how you said you listened to that on repeat for months on end…
Obviously some of this gets into the magic indescribable thing of why some music resonates with you at what particular time.
But, having been used to listening to Taylor’s new albums almost nonstop for months when they come out, I’m just not as drawn to the world in this one. I, too, find myself taking a break from it and being fine with that.
Weird how it works.

Anti-Hero is probably her best 'pop' single since 1989 though and, obviously, #teamhitsdifferent

Midnights is a good cohesive record with decent execution of theming but it definitely lacks the pop, charm, or creativity of her best works (Speak Now, Red, Folkmore, etc). I still greatly enjoy the album but its definitely in the middle of her discography for me.

In conclusion, Taylor's discography is so flawless that an amazing pop album like midnights is ranked in the middle of her discography for some people

I put on my festive green vinyl of Evermore yesterday and remembered how much I love it.

3-3-23 is on a Friday… with this being her 33rd bday I wonder if she’ll release 1989 on that day.

I find Midnights to be a much enjoyable listening experience than Lover is. I think Midnights has a lot better album tracks than what Lover has."Me!" & "You Need To Calm Down' really bring down the record while the stand out tracks "Daylight","Afterglow" & "False God" get lost in the album, Lover while not a bad album at all just doesn't compare to the greatness that is Midnights.

While Lover is my favourite Taylor album for personal reasons, I agree with this. While the highs of the album GLISTEN and shine bright, the lows really bring the record down as a cohesive unit.

YESSSS another Lover stan. Such a strong set of songs, even if it was a completely jumbled mixtape with ZERO cohesion. I think she learned a valuable lesson after that, but I do love that album.

Very unpopular opinion but ME! is an extremely cute song and actually fits great within Lover. My only issue was the extremely random "Hey Kids! Spelling is fun" lyric in the middle of the first version. I'm really happy she deleted it from Spotify.

I submitted my Ticketmaster request yesterday for Pittsburgh tickets. Based on when Chicago fans found out, I should be hearing tonight. Crossing everything I can and manifesting floor tickets.
EDIT: OK MY MANIFESTING FUCKING WORKED. I GOT FLOOR SEATS ROW TWO. Holy shit

‘Midnights’ is going to be so frustratingly close to the top seller of 2022, probz by less than 100K. Time to pull some stunts lol.

I wonder how much the 3am physicals not being released yet have to do with Taylor and her team holding back on it rather than the vinyl pressing industry's well-known capacity problems. Considering the 3am version's nature as a surprise addition, I think there's a chance that they didn't have the physicals produced pre-release to prevent leaks about it

For the record, Taylor passed 3 million this week at 3.03. Bad Bunny is at 3.3 million. Triple platinum in two months? We love to see it.
I wonder if she'll be #1 the final two weeks of the year of if SZA can hold on for a second week. Would really like to see her match the 10 weeks at the top that '1989' and 'Fearless' got.
