Last time the artist said they weren’t, they were. Let’s not forget about how she had that neon billboard with the album title for Lover in the ME! music video and lied through her teeth when we correctly clocked it quicker than she expected. It's a great time for her to perform, but as many have said before, perhaps she will want to release all of the re-recordings first, to use the SB boost on her Taylor's Versions. This is likely very true knowing her, but if she’s already given us two one-off TVs, I believe (likely with the exception of “Shake It Off,” unless she just didn’t perform that one) that if she’s gonna perform, she’ll just drop a cute little EP of the TV of songs specifically from the halftime performance. It makes sense for Taylor to perform the Super Bowl after the re-recordings are done although and Shake It Off is still in middle of a lawsuit at the moment. I can't imagine her performing songs that would benefit Big Machine/Scooter Braun and not herself. It just doesn't add up at all.

Why wouldn’t she just re-record the ones she’d do specifically for the show!? doing the show is going to result in increased interest in her entire catalog. I don't think it's just about publishing rights, it's about minimizing the level of attention original versions will receive. |
