Wouldn't surprise me if now that Carly has peaked they are moving Carrie into their spots.

Removed from Spotify’s Hot Country Playlist and replaced with Out Of That Truck. Hopefully this means they are changing singles.

While I want this, I would be very frustrated if they pulled it before HMH makes top twenty. It’ll arguably make it there in just two more short weeks. Then they can pull it and release OOTT and I’ll be happy lol

I agree. Ride it out and at least get it top 20. I’m sure there’s a rush to get OOTT to ads so it can be a summer smash, but let HMH do what it’s going to do first. Part of it might have been that the top 30 was super clogged with hits and now that some are dropping finally, songs like this are getting more spins.

It's already too late to have it be a summer smash. There is literally no reason to keep HMH on the charts. I know people want to keep a (IMO a meaningless) streak alive, but at what cost? She has a little bit of momentum. Is a top 20 dud worth it to lose that momentum? In my opinion, it's a no brainer.

The streak is pretty meaningless but if this song has enough life in it to sneak in a Top 20 peak then I don't see the harm in pushing it a couple more weeks. But if this is still looking outside the Top 20 by the near end of the month then ditch it for good.

Idk but the top 20 streak is the only one she has left. Top 2 is gone, top 5, top 10 gone. I’m just a Carrie fan who is struggling with the fact that her career is transitioning into legacy mode and that chart positions don’t matter anymore. Just get HMH top 20 and pull the plug imo.

I really, really want HMH to make top twenty, but it seems if it does, it will be another month or so. I am not sure UMG is going to be pushing OOTT like we had thought, but I really am just ready for this to hopefully sneak into the top twenty and then to move on to the CoJo duet and a new era

I’m just curious why OOTT would be put in all the major playlists while removing HMH if there is no intention in pushing it as a single.

To be fair OOTT has only been in the major playlisting for 2 weeks now? So there's time to have it be sent to radio and still get "Hate My Heart" a Top 20 peak beforehand.

Two decent losses in a row. It’s not for sure done, but there is a possibility. If not it definitely is on fumes.
I say drop it and send out OOTT as impacting immediately. That one is still connecting well even a month after release.

That one is still connecting well even a month after release. I'm totally on board with this move. As a long-time fan, I honestly don't care about keeping a Top 20 streak alive, lol. I'm confident I'm not alone here. I'd much rather them move on to a single that makes more of an impact (OOTT/Burn). I wonder how much the Cody duet is factoring into this scenario. I'm aware this is completely hypothetical, but if they're planning to release it as the lead single and his album comes out sometime in 2023 as he stated, then we can also expect Carrie to have a duet climbing the charts in the Summer or Fall. If I recall correctly, Carrie's never had more than one active single at country radio at a time (which makes sense as female airplay is severely limited as is). If they plan on releasing the duet 2nd then there's definitely time to release a deluxe edition and push OOTT/Single 3. Also, part of me wonders if they've discussed the eras performance and are aiming to regroup and move on as quickly as possible. The end of the tour and gift of OOTT do kind of seem to mark the end of the era.

Honestly not sure exactly why "Hate My Heart" stalled like it did. If I remember correctly, it had a pretty good start. In any event, Carrie's at a point in her career where streaks will end, and this may be another one that falls by the wayside. If indicators are that "Out of That Truck" is primed to do well, they need to move on to it now because it would make less sense to go with another D&R single at this point. Whatever they do, she should perform something new at the ACMs, although admittedly the impact of awards show performances isn't as great as it used to be. She needs to shake things up with her next project for sure, but maybe OOTT could be some sort of stopgap for now. The Cody Johnson duet could help do this also, but it's not clear when that one will be released.

I mean "Hate My Heart" has stalled out because there is zero buzz to the song whatsoever, it's never once got on the Hot Country Songs chart (provided right now Morgan Wallen clogs the whole damn chart with his last album) and the callout has been okay but not anything worth radio instantly gravitating towards as it has been very inconsistent. Unfortunately despite how unfair it is, female songs especially solo ones need a solid amount of buzz and good radio callout scores to go all the way (see "Heart Like A Truck" and "What He Didn't Do" making Top 5). "Hate My Heart" hasn't really had that during it's chart run it feels like and Carrie Underwood's name can only bring it so high on the charts.
Also it can't be understated how much it feels like the country industry is transitioning Carrie Underwood into a legacy act radio wise like what we are seeing with Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, where radio has cooled off on all of them big time as each have been in the industry for a little more or less than 20 years and their are a lot of bright newer shiny faces for radio to attach themselves too (Luke Comb, Morgan Wallen, Bailey Zimmerman, and Lainey Wilson especially).
I do think the right single choice can get Carrie Underwood back in the Top 5 to even #1 if need be but "Hate My Heart" isn't that song at all.

It’s kind of more just that radio is less “fair” than they used to be. Years ago, almost every song went to #1. And almost every song that went to #1, even if it was a big hit, didn’t push for multiple weeks. So because of that, songs went to #1 easily. Now lots of songs push for several weeks which they didn’t used to do, and because of that songs peak at say 15 or 20 because of songs taking an extra 4-8 weeks at the top. Without those weeks a song peaking at 15 would’ve moved up several spots due to songs leaving the chart after one week at the top. Now radio just only plays a few songs from a couple artists and songs that really connect. Like we see Bailey and Morgan and Lainey had songs that really connected so they played them. If HMH came out a few years ago it probably would have just gone top ten easily. So, Carrie needs a song that really connects if she wants the song to get played by radio, and unfortunately HMH did not. OOTT is, though.
But yes. I’m okay with moving on to the next era

So, somehow this is doing better in Canada, where it’s actually doing quite well. It’s at 17 today. It’s crazy this will likely peak higher in Canada than the US, where it looks likely to miss top twenty

So happy the top twenty streak is alive. This has had a really good week this week and I hope it continues.

Well, was it worth killing OOTT for this to hit the top 20?

The more "Out Of That Truck" continues to show signs of connecting and the more UMG decides to stick with "Hate My Heart" with radio instead, the more baffled I am gonna be.

Ok good, this is top 20. Now let’s drop it and push OOTT to radio.

I kind of think this week was a push to get top 20. This has been really stagnant the past few months and it would be really random to go from that to having a fantastic week with a +400 bullet. Curious to see if this one is pulled with Monday’s update.

Top 20 secured. Now pull it. Move to OOTT. Announce D&R deluxe, and attempt to give this album the second wind it deserves.

For what it’s worth, of all the songs in the top 20 I believe HMH is in the younger half, or at least right in the middle of the pack. I don’t get the feeling they plan on pulling this anytime soon…

While they could keep pushing this considering it's age compared to the songs above it, it's just not the smart move.
How confident are we that it was a push week for top 20?
Let’s move onto a higher impact single team CU.

Let’s move onto a higher impact single team CU. Well given it’s still seeing relatively good updates that confirms they are keeping on with it for now unfortunately. Guess they will try to get it top 10.
