i think the previous record holder for the single day male country album is himself with Dangerous. Considering the news about it came out after about 16 hours since release, which I assume is the amount it take for it to break said record, One Thing At A Time's first day would be about 50% bigger than Dangerous'. Also worth noting that 2023 have yet to have any album debut week higher than 80k from SEA so it's not *that* impressive, though the numbers itself are still gonna be huge.

also i just realized that they specified *male* country album because Red (TV) is counted as a country album.

Got around to giving Morgan's album a good listen and I can't say it's better than Dangerous. While the writing and the production is a lot better here, that doesn't always make for better moments.

Morgan's singing is a lot more assured here. I think he went 30/36 but a lot of the songs bleed into each other and he could have done without about like 15 of them, considering every song is either about alcohol, women or Jesus.

A few songs in, it becomes clear that Morgan assembled the best songwriters and producers in Nashville and they delivered some of their best material to him.

Don't Think Jesus remains the best song and the emotional centerpiece of the album. Really brilliant song. Wish it performed better on the charts.

All in all, a very solid album, considering it's runtime. The shortest song is 2:19 and the longest song is 3:45 so no song overstays it's welcome. The features were decent for the most part and Morgan's fans and country fans at large will eat the album up. Morgan leaves no stone unturned in terms of songs that will appeal to the average person who appreciates country music.

The album will most certainly ensure Morgan's continued dominance in the country music space. Don't really see anyone outdoing him in that arena for the foreseeable future.

Tbh that depends on how much it can close the radio gap between it and Flowers and how well Last Night is gonna hold these next couple of days. She sure is not getting it next week though because of the Miley album.

The way Morgan has albums with zillions of songs piss me off - it's all about getting streaming records with mediocre material. Glad that only Last Night seems to become truly huge others being below 2 million on Spotify on a release day.

Okay so looks like my prediction from a few weeks ago of Morgan's album's first week performance in streaming being similar to Red (TV) is gonna be true. Will probably be less front loaded tho.

Also, I've finally listened to the album in full and I think I like it more than Dangerous. Felt more polished, and the vocals are better. Would have liked to get more high tempo songs tho.

Seems like it. Also did Don’t Think Jesus even have a chance of going to number-one? I remember the highest predictions having it at 3 or something.
