Who said we were sick of him, he technically had a whole year of him away with the underperformance of Dawn FM. There’s also less of him on the radio its just Creepin and DFY which are both slowly on their way out anyway.

In comparison, early last year he still had BL and SYT on radio on top of 3 songs he was featured on as well as TMB and Sacrifice doing its own thing on smaller formats. That was a grand total of 7 songs of his in rotation.

Lol I'm pretty sure I remember a clip on Twitter behind the scenes of the album and SZA was having some meltdown because her label wanted to push the album to the top of 2023 (specifically because of the obvious Holiday rush), and she demanded they stick with December instead.

The release date came down to SZA and her probably not even realizing that top of 2023 actually would've been better chart wise. That was an instance of the artist standing in their way and not the label.

Kill Bill missing one week at #1 shouldn't be that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, and it's also not guaranteed it would've reached #1 anyway because it still would've had to contend with Flowers.

while that is true in theory, I'm sure SZA isn't mad at the huge success of SOS and 10 weeks (possibly more) her album has ruled the albums tally, including the holidays and all of January.

and who knows, maybe "Kill Bill" wouldn't have been as massive had it come out AFTER Shakira's Bzrp Session and Miley Cyrus' "Flowers." these scenarios really aren't as scientific as that.

SZA after so many delays wanted the album to be out before the year's end, and she stood her ground. she clearly didn't wanna see any more "SZA is a LIAR, where is the album?" discourse online lol.

Yeah, i mean, the pros and cons. SZA’s album came at a time when there was no competition of new music and she’s been sailing ever since, the tradeoff was not having a Hot 100 #1. Would she have had the same level of success with numbers had they waited? Maybe, maybe not, but we all (again) need to realize that a Hot 100 peak is one piece of a much larger pie when it comes to determining success and popularity. I don’t think it was the wrong choice at all.
