There were also three other songs that did the same feat that Billboard may have forgotten: βThe Three Bellsβ, The Browns, 1959 βHarper Valley PTAβ, Jeannie C. Riley, 1968 βI Can Helpβ, Billy Swan, 1974 They could also mean --- at the same time - not sure though True, but I also found out that βWe Are Never Ever Getting Back Togetherβ was mentioned, but that didnβt hit number one on the country chart until October 20, 2012, which was a month after topping the Hot 100 (which the number one song at the time was βOne More Nightβ by Maroon 5). So maybe Billboard just forgot to mention those three songs, or the fact that they should have mentioned that the songs that were posted in the article topped both charts at the same time, which is kind of a mystery at this point. π€ |

Do you want it to hit #1 or would you rather have Princess Diana? Or Last Night to retain? I thought PD had a shot with all the coordinated mass buying from Nicki stans (the producer was openly offering to pay people on twitter). But I'm happy that KB is finally making it official, even though like Levitating it didn't need the week at #1 as its the biggest song of the year. Well itβs not official yet and itβs close enough to βleave the door openβ to a repeat of Levitating week. Also we donβt have any evidence itβs favored other than that tweet. Also Kill Bill doesnβt have the year end #1 on lock. Flowers will remain its biggest competition if radio longevity works in its favor, and if Last Night becomes a multi-format radio monster over the summer then yeah that could pull it off too. |

Man Abelβs on a roll this year. Agreed tbh, especially when heβs probably getting the last laugh here (or maybe SZA will given Kill Billβs chances of the year end #1, idk). I'm actually thinking Morgan might get the year end #1 at this rate regardless of whether he or SZA are #1 next week. Country crossover smashes always rank really high on year-end charts given their insane longevity and the airplay triple-threat of Pop, HAC, and Country. See Breathe #1 of 2000 and Need You Now #2 of 2010 despite never topping the Hot 100. Before He Cheats, Cruise, Body Like a Back Road, the Bones all snagging top 10 year end spots despite relatively low peaks on the weekly charts, I Hope going to #12 despite its pop run coming very late in the year. Wait what an actual multi-week #1 can do on a year-end chart. SZA does still have a considerable head start but I do agree longevity might be on Morganβs side here given his streaming and how heβs catching up on radio. Tbh whether Morgan can actually get there depends on how quickly he can close that margin and how quickly SZA falls. |

What they need to be doing is pushing Cruel Summer. Itβs surging on streaming since the tour began and is probably her most popular non single at this point. The swifties alone would send it top 10. |

Predictions right now have Kill Bill and Last Night in a tie with the same number of points lolβ¦ If she manages to still get blocked this week Iβll just have to laugh. But itβs still the years biggest song so Gonna have to figure out how to make an iTunes account if this is still tied by Thursday. I would be so disappointed if Kill Bill loses the #1 to morgan f**king wallen by like 0.1% Well somehow this actually held up, and since every predictor has them <1 point apart... here we go as promised lol Fun fact: buying 6 copies of a song for the minimum price ($4.14) is worth around 900 streams in chart points. This is much improved over the formula 2 years ago, when Sales were worth 2x as much and you could purchase 4 copies per version - if this were 2021, one person could've bought over 7000 streams worth of "Kill Bill" in digital sales (for $16.56), assuming they maxed out across all 6 versions. Next step for Billboard is putting a cap on alternate versions! |

Is it looking possible for See You Again to chart on the Hot 100?? I'd love to see that for Tyler and Kali. Since it's never charted before, I believe it could debut anywhere on the chart. Based on some rough math with the Spotify numbers, See You Again probably did 7-8M streams last week, which would be enough to debut in the #70-90 range. |

I hadn't realized this but Cruel Summer is out-streaming Lavender Haze now on Spotify and Apple Music. That means it's probably doing 10-11M streams per week which is right on the edge of the Top 50. It's hard to get an exact sense since it's not eligible for the Recurrent chart OR the Bubbling Under, but it's very close to re-entering. I'm hoping Taylor decides to give it the single treatment since it's my favorite song of hers.

why one of the most mid songs from the album? You're On Your Own Kid literally exists and is begging for AC airplay. or, yknow, Bejeweled? ? the one that got an MV and then abandoned? You're on Your Own Kid and Bejeweled aren't getting the daily streams Karma or Midnight Rain are getting well sure but it's about the Kanye drama. and frankly, i don't need another Drama-Taylor song, i very much preferred Folklore and Evermore being more subtle with it's jabs
And yes, she was 100% in the right. Frankly, it should've been the second single since it'd have coincided with Kanye making a massive fool of himself, more-so than ever |

Whoof, where to begin with this week?
Well we can start with our new number one and making history as both the first Regional Mexican Music song to reach number one and with the first Mexican acts to top the charts, Ella Baila Sola dethrones Search & Rescue for the #1 spot, gaining a huge amount of streams, 41.78% to be exact. In fact, it was a historic week for Mexican music on the charts as we have 4 other RMM in the Top 10. La Bebe Remix rises to #6 with an increase of 30.75% while PRC breaks into the Top 10 by gaining 27.4%. Finally, with only 4 days of tracking, Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny's collab un x100to debuts at #8, miraculously the second biggest debut of the week.
Ella Baila Sola takes the top spot after the TERRIBLE Search & Rescue falls by 36.06%, as Last Night is stuck behind at #2, stabilizing with a 5.3% decrease. Of course, the biggest story going into this week was the remix for Kill Bill and despite only debuting at #13 below the original, the combined streams were enough to give SZA 13M, enough to actually give her the top streamed song of the week. Finally rounding up the news in the Top 10 is the biggest debut of the week, at #7, Post Malone's comeback single: Chemical.
It was busy week overall despite the lack of new arrivals. We saw Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj debut, David Kushner come out of nowhere with a surprising global smash, a sudden and bizarre boost for Glass animals following autoplay changes, Frank Ocean's disastrous Coachella performance lead to streaming comebacks for his songs, and the continued rise of RMM all around
