Definitely overall figures. She did 500k vinyl during the first week of Midnights, but this doesn't have as much variants nor the clock gimmick. I could see this getting up to 750k though, higher if she decides to actually release signed CDs.

I see in her webstore, in addition two different colors of vinyl, she also has CD, cassette and digital album for sale. So, it won't be all vinyl, but I can see it being mostly vinyl.

For some reason, these re-records are never in stores on release day. I ordered them as soon as they went up for preorder on Amazon and they’re expecting to ship in August. They’re not available in-store at any local Wal-Mart or Target. This same thing happened with Fearless and Red.
Midnights was not an issue. There were copies everywhere on release date.

That prediction is definitely just an arbitrary number to get clicks. They have nothing really besides preorders at this point to go off of, they always throw a ballpark number for big releases like this.

They have nothing really besides preorders at this point to go off of, they always throw a ballpark number for big releases like this. they're probably making the estimate based on Fearless(TV), Red (TV) and Midnights performances. imbuemyblue — 600k wouldn't be a low overall total for this, tbh. Red managed 605k and that was with the hype of ATW (10 min), two music videos including the ATW short film, and a tracklist consisting of 30 songs total. if Midnights wasn't a blockbuster like it is, like if you asked me in 2021, I would have guessed fairly below 600k for Speak Now TV for sure. but with her current demand and tour effect in mind, 600k seems like solid estimate to me. and I expect the projections to go up over the week, as they usually start with conservative estimates. |

I was merely second guessing it because I thought we had some early reports of very, very high initial vinyl sales back when it first went on sale, I.e. seeming to outdo 'Midnights' first few days of sales. But of course it would still be a huge deal if it does what 'Red TV' did. |

I mean people do collect far weirder shit - some people just like to have vinyl collections as I do think the novelty is there to show off to guests who might have never even seen a record player in action. I personally would love to own Taylor's discography since the vinyls are really pretty and she has yet to make an album I don't like but she has taught us that it's better to give her some time until she drops definitive editions or you'll get stuck with at least 2 or 3 copies. Some people do derail it into what kimberly described though. I've seen some people on TikTok with 12 different editions of folklore, like come on guys. Granted some BTS fans probably have 50+ digital downloads of Butter. Stans always get carried away by hype. I also have to wonder if some people realize their CD copies will degrade over time even if they don't use them. |
