I also don't feel Wallen and Aldean should be treated the same here. One said the n word on video once, the other is literally rallying people to fight against another group. Ambiguously, yeah, but you can't tell me no one on the recording booth knew what the MAGA audience was going to take away from the track. I'm also sure a huge number of music acts might use the n word privately, Wallen was just dumb enough to get caught. Most of the world, to be honest, knows nothing about the incident, and the few that do have mostly moved on. Wallen's music itself is inoffensive, more conventional country. Sure you can think it's mediocre but the songs themselves aren't offensive. 1) This 2) The way I was ahead of the curve, lol... Morgan is obviously the worst one here as a person, but a few of his songs are at least tolerable for me. Music-wise, Jason Aldean is the worst for me. I hate pretty much every song I've heard from him so he gets my vote. Morgan Wallen said the N word once, apologized for it, and then later donated $300,000 to the Black Music Action Coalition. Jason Aldean has worn literal blackface for Halloween and has a notably transphobic wife that he got with after he was caught cheating on his first wife -- who was his high school sweetheart & mother of his 2 young (less than 10 y.o.) daughters -- w/ her in a public bar. I was just responding to one of many comments that paint Morgan Wallen as THE ultimate villain while dismissing someone like Jason Aldean who I would argue is quite literally worse based on multiple things he's done or associated himself with. The person I quoted ( RoseColoredGirl ) even edited her post in response. I don't think Wallen is a great person either and never said he was, but there's been quite a few interesting comments here about who is worse from an ethics standpoint. Several people have picked Gabby Barrett as well which is even more confusing to me seeing as she's literally done nothing by comparison to either of them besides just... be Republican. As for the donated money, sure it was a PR stunt and only because he got caught and received backlash for his actions, but the Black Music Action Coalition got $300,000 richer because of it which is at least something to celebrate. It doesn't matter who the money comes from or why it happened, it still went to a good cause. Jason Aldean never gave any money to black people after he dressed up as one for Halloween and then said the world is just too sensitive these days. 🥴 tl,dr version: Neither are great people, I just think a lot of people are focused on Morgan Wallen because he's the current face of country music and most recently taken heat for problematic behavior, but Jason Aldean done been a trashy human since before Wallen was even in Nashville and not enough people seemed to know that, and he's never faced a single repercussion for anything he's done. Wallen actually got (albeit temporarily) pulled from the airwaves when he made his mistake. It also started out as I assume a poll based on quality of material, but it divulged into a game of ethics so I felt the need to throw some of that stuff out there since it was glossed over.

Total Streams for Dial Drunk: 6,594,313 (would be #7 with combined streams).
Well this week was messier than expected. We'll have to deal with that song next week but for now we have a new #1 and not a song I was actually expecting as Gunna's fukumean climbs to #1 with a 13.4% gain, Gunna's first #1 since Drip Too Hard back in 2018. It leapt over vampire which went down to #2, losing 18.99% and higher than the top debut of the week, at #3 Jung Kook's solo debut: Seven. But that wasn't the only debut in the Top 10 as at #10 is Billie Eilish's song for the Barbie movie: What Was I Made For?.
All of this was in the shadow of Speak Now (Taylor's Version) second week on the charts so let's talk Taylor. She had a big drop off this week with nearly every song on the album dropping by more than half. While I Can See You managed to stay in the Top 10, it still lost 52.46% of streams. And as for her other Top 10 debuts last week: Enchanted dropped by 61.41%, Back to December was down 65.26%, Mine fell by 67.62%, Sparks Fly collapsed by 68.64%, and Better than Revenge crashed by 68.14%.
Elsewhere, given the fall of all the Speak Now songs, the charts were settling back to an equilibrium, with the only other notable news being Troye Sivan debuting in the Top #40 with Rush, his biggest debut to date, Noah Kahan dropping a remix of Dial Drunk with Post Malone mid-week, and Lie Crazy rebounding huge perhaps on the back of his bandmate's other solo debut. Notable Gains: Like Crazy - 36% LALA - 33% Barbie World - 21% Sprinter - 16% Johnny Dang - 15% Stick Season - 14% fukumean - 13% Next Thing You Know - 12% You Should Probably Leave - 10%
Week 2 Streams SZA - SOS: 114,758,353 (-42%) Morgan Wallen - One Thing At A Time: 113,180,650 (-46%) Metro Boomin - HEROES & VILLAINS: 58,675,707 (-43%) Taylor Swift - Speak Now (Taylor's Version): 42,866,207 (-74%) Metro Boomin - ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE SOUNDTRACK: 36,136,809 (-22%)
