It was expected to be like 10 weeks at number 1. Those were huge expectations she had but she failed to do so, so Vampire flopped. It's not even a bad song, but it is doing worse than it should.

Vampire is not a flop by any means lol. Her next single better be more upbeat though.

Both Lorde and Billie second eras performances were weak as f--k, but considering Olivia with "Drivers License" mostly blew up because of TikTok and with major label (Interscope) pushing her while the other two came to the scene independently......

? I get saying Olivia's next single might disappoint since her current one is just doing good (I disagree but whatever), but I really don't get what you're saying about TikTok and Billie/Lorde.

Sophomore eras are usually the litmus test for any new artist. I expected the lead single from Olivia's sophomore album to be at least as good as the first three SOUR singles, but sadly, it's not. She had enough hype to debut at #1 on HOT 100, but missed the top spot in many countries abroad. I think the song just doesn't have the replay value.

I really hope Olivia has some better singles lined up next. If not, this new era won't last long.

It was expected to be like 10 weeks at number 1. Those were huge expectations she had but she failed to do so, so Vampire flopped. It's not even a bad song, but it is doing worse than it should.

Idk, debuting at #1 then being at #9 in week 4 after having all your other Top 5 hits run for at least 13 wks inside Top 10 says something.

vampire seems like a classic case where its initially successful based off the hype and good will of the smash success of sour. However, the song itself doesn't really resonate so it later performance suffers. That's an extremely common pattern with artists that have a smash breakout album.

If Olivia's next single and/or album resonates with the public or cements her fanbase, she will be fine.

But currently, vampire isn't looking like a smash success that will cement her as a permanent superstar instead of someone just coasting off the success of her freshman album.
