The way that by default this is Kacey's biggest song in the charts is tragic, she truly deserves the world and more. The fact that this is track 11, not 1 or 2, means that folks are seeking it out - itβs not getting streams by default when people just stream the album. Perhaps the visibility will work as a stepping stone for KM to get further acceptance. The most popular chart songs are usually basic - thatβs reality of mass appeal Of course, KM benefits in a way that Maggie Rogers doesnβt - not sure why Dawns, which was released a few weeks ago, wasnβt included in ZB. She also deserves mass recognition. |

I think its also worth mentioning neither Kacey and Zach are liked by country radio (both are probably better sending the song to Alt and AAA). Kacey hasn't been supported supported years and Zach barely got more airplay - it took SITO months to even crack the Top 20 on country. Them having a #1 means country radio will be forced to play the song.

Taylor's getting her Eras Tour "movie" shown on AMC movie theaters starting October 13, which should give her whole music catalog a boost. Not to be that guy but the movie is being shown in just about all theaters even outside of the AMC ones. It'll be interesting to see how this boosts her catalog and maybe even helps with hype for 1989 TV two weeks later. |

I could see mariahβs points being in the 500βs or 600βs when christmas lands on a thursday in 2025. Could even achieve this next year honestly. insane What points did βAIWFCIYβ got in 2019, cause 2024 shares the same calendar as 2019 and Christmas falls on a Wednesday. 520-ish points with 72 million streams during christmas week of 2019ππ predictors kept guessing 90 million for their predictions tho so it might have been in the high 400βs |

People often neglect that AIWFCIY/Christmas musicβs success is voluntary and not guaranteed, RATCT nearly over Mariah last year and just a few years ago Mariah even entered the top 10, non Xmas music just needs to step up/the formula might be outdated/whatever but if itβs still going #1 to this current day for like the entirety of December she clearly deserves it, if Billboard just specifically removed the #1 song in the US from the charts for performing to well, Billboard would have even less merit than it does

non Xmas music just needs to step up Never gonna happen. No one is gonna up their game and fight the Xmas songs for a spot on the chart because it's a lot of work for a #11 peak when ten classics beat you. Radio gets into Xmas mode and then year end countdowns so your song has to survive and thread water for a month, while it also flounders on streaming because it's pushed down by so much old stuff resurging. The only reason someone like Taylor beat Mariah that one week is because at that point the singles chart wasn't a priority for her so she didn't care about a huge album bomb (and she got rewarded with an awful positional drop the week after). The only relative mystery left for the Xmas charts is when will Mariah's spotify numbers pale enough in comparison to Brenda's that RATCT finally beats it at least one week. Or if Amazon can somehow repeat what they did for Ellie Goulding on the UK chart but stateside (harder). |

Kacey Musgraves going to #1 on the Hot 100 in the year of our Lord 2023. Hurray for tiny miracles.
This song seems like an instant Grammys contender in the relevant country categories and if it has staying power, also in SOTY and/or ROTY. I could easily see Grammys voters opting to award this over Morgan Wallenβs stuff.

So what tour is happening next year? I have tix Still the Eras Tour, she just finished the first...era of it lmao. She's on break as she doesn't have any shows this month I wouldnβt be surprised if she reworked the entire tour/setlist for international dates so they can have something fresh. Then sheβll re-release the movie on a streaming service and call it The Eras: Worldwide Edition. This woman is the Queen of Capitalism, never doubt her ability to earn some extra coin π |

Though to be fair it would feel weird lumping Johnny Cash or even Kenny Rogers songs in with those too. Be best to compare RATCT with country music of the 50s to see if it fits then. In terms of radio though, the lines of genres shift over time anyway so what once was country may no longer fit and vice versa. |

I feel kind of betrayed that the tour film is coming out before I can get to see the tour myself. The greediness... I'm not gonna say it isn't an act of greed because it is, let's be honest. But being fair, I view concerts the same way as sporting events: there's a sense of enjoyment you can get watching it form home or throughou videos other people took but there's something that no camera can capture and that's the environment of being in the audience alongside other people who want to be there as well. It's why there's a difference when you watch say a live recording or even an adaptation of Les Miserables, Hamilton, or Phantom of the Opera vs. actually being there in person to watch a cast perform it. There's different medias and different ways of consumption, one isn't better than the other but they do provide a new experience. Plus with Taylor being a workaholic, who knows if she'll keep the concert exactly as it when she resumes touring in October. |

I wouldn't feel bad if I had tickets post film release. There's a good chance she switches up some aspects of the tour and let's be real most Swifties have already seen like 60% of the show through countless TikToks and streams. The only real surprise for anyone after the first few dates was which acoustic songs they're getting.

Stranger things have happened in country music this year - a lot of them not good and burdened with a lot of ugly bullshit - but this is without a doubt one of my favorite weeks in recent memory. But we do indeed have a new number one, the first for both artists: I Remember Everything debuting with 14.18M streams. And with Zach Bryan's self-titled album smashing hard, he brought with him four other debuts in the Top 10 givng The War and Treaty their biggest exposure to date as well as The Lumineers' biggest song since Ophelia or even Ho Hey! That's not to say last week's number one was going down without a fight as despite dropping to #2, thanks to consistent growth throughout the week Paint the Town Red was up 18.58%, a very promising sign for a potential number one the following week. It does mean bad things for Rich Men North of Richmond as it's only shot at #1 for a week is gone as it dropped by 11.14%. But we also did get another Top 20 debut with Miley Cyrus' newest single (added to Endless Summer Vacation): the stripped back Used to Be Young which debuted with 7.39M streams. It was good news all around for Zach Bryan who saw boosts for his previous songs on the charts, and yet surprisingly he was not the biggest gain. No that went to SZA's Snooze which after finally having its music video dropped, was up 35.94%. The only other thing of note to happen this week was Selena Gomez dropping a loose single 'Single Soon', which only gained 5.5M in its first week.
