Maybe 'Margaritaville' re-enters? More likely some *posthumous chart justice* for 'Songs You Know by Heart,' which is 7xP, but only peaked at #100 on B200. Misleading...The #100 peak was in 1985 but it lived a long life on the catalog chart including 5 weeks at #1 |

The new Maneskin song absolutely rocks! Most likely the track will have zero impact on the Hot 100, which leaves me baffled. This band is selling out Madison Square Garden this month and they never had a top ten single or album on Billboard, as if there were some sort of disconnect between the Billboard charts and the actual success and following that certain artists and bands have. No wonder there are artists that are calling for a reform of the Billboard charts. The charts don't reflect which bands and artists are actually popular at the moment as ticket sales don't match with chart positions. I understand that for legacy acts, but not for current bands. Maneskin should have had at least three or four top ten singles and a top ten album in the past 3 or 4 years. You don't get to play Madison Square Garden unless you're extremely popular. Doja Cat was never even close to play her own show at Madison Square Garden and how many top ten hits does she have? 6 or 7? What a joke.

They're not selling out MSG lol. Just went on Ticketmaster, and there are PLENTY of seats still left for that show. Not exactly sure how they were able to book that venue in the U.S. with their lack of chart success here, but obviously they must be much more popular overseas. Sometimes current acts' tour numbers don't match up with their chart success, but in cases of major bookings like Madison Square Garden, the vast, vast majority of the time they do, so Maneskin would be a rare exception to that, and I'm not seeing any calls for reforms of the Billboard charts by artists on a large scale.

MSG isn't even one of the biggest show venues in New York. It's big sure but a lot of acts perform there nowadays, not exactly newsworthy to sell out MSG as it used to.

hoping Doja gets it . it would be the best #1 since Kill Bill. also it would be great to have Dionne Warwick featured on another #1 song even if she is not credited.she previously had two of them it would also be the first #1 with Burt Bacharach credited as writer since 2004.

Doja Cat will be playing at both the T-Mobile Arena and the Crypto.com Arena this fall, both of which gave 20,000 seats. |

Maneskin should have had at least three or four top ten singles and a top ten album in the past 3 or 4 years. You don't get to play Madison Square Garden unless you're extremely popular. Doja Cat was never even close to play her own show at Madison Square Garden and how many top ten hits does she have? 6 or 7? What a joke. MSG has a total capacity of 19,500 seats. Doja Cat will be playing at both the T-Mobile Arena and the Crypto.com Arena this fall, both of which gave 20,000 seats. The fact that you think that the T-Mobile Arena and the Crypto.com Arena are more prestigious venues than MSG clearly shows your knowledge of music history. |
