AAA didn't really abandon them - most of their support came from non-commercials, who tend to add and drop songs early. They were the ones that helped break "Chaise Longue" out, and their album landed at #17 on JBE's non-comm chart for 2022.

Likewise, "Wet Dream" was released around when "Chaise Longue" was charting, so the stations added it way before its alt run - I also believe several of the commercials that added Chaise partly because it was charting on alt, as several didn't add the follow-ups to it. So by the time Wet Dream was charting, there was little AAA traction for a chart run there. It also hurts that Domino (their label) hasn't had the best of luck with commercial AAA and usually has trouble getting the more commercial AAAs to add them - for instance, most of the holdouts of the new Real Estate single are commercials.

You could maybe argue the case for "Too Late Now", as most non-comms added that one iirc, but it didn't have the hooks Chaise had. "Angelica" was their most accessible single from the era, but looking back at the adds thread, it got most of its adds before its alt chart run so there was also little AAA traction by the time it took off at alt.

More importantly, all four singles still get some recurrent airplay on the non-comms (Chaise Longue particularly, though). So unless their next lead turns out to be a piece of shit (pun intended), I think they should do decently at AAA come next era.
