This barrage of hints and titles feels so messy lol. It seems like she was planning to reveal information about the album this way before the tracklist leaked, but she's doing it anyway (like the Midnights Mayhem night when all of the titles were posted after leaking earlier).
While I love the effort, this wouldn't be my preferred era structure. She announced the album over two months ago and since then the only content we received (before this week's madness) was numerous pre-orders for new versions & variants. I miss the good ol' era with a couple of singles / promo tracks and perhaps a livestream too. She is so set on increasing her sales, streams & numbers with each release, that the entirety of every campaign focuses on consumption and buying. I know how economy works nowadays and I get that every artist wants that boost but I miss the simpler times.

I feel like there must be an ARMY of lawyers whose ONLY JOB is to play whack-a-mole with leaks for the next 36 hours.
See you all again when we’re all officially inside The Tortured Poets Department!

For a fortnight, I assume. Also, Taylor's crowd already anticipated the leak, you haven't been able to search it on Twitter for a few hours
It can't be For A Fortnight as the F has already been found and used

Listening to it and I'm sad the album sounds way more as "Midnights" than "Folklore".

It’s…really really good on first listen. Way more immediate than Midnights.

Oh the critics are gonna eat this up in a great way. Not many anthemic/instant radio smahes, but this is absolutely Midnights advanced sonically with the top-tier lyrical prowess of her best (Folklore)! She is more candid than ever and my God I love it. "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" is definitely one of the more instant/catchy songs. Ugh. I have so many swirling thoughts, but this is sooooooo good. MUCH better than Midnights IMO and likely as good as Folkmore once it sets in with me!

But it isn't a direct copy/paste at all. I do think she should move on (reduce, not remove) from so much Jack next time, to feel fresh, but that probably isn't happening.

It is not a big sounding, radio-ready album. It's sonically *similar* to Midnights (still distinct, more alt to stand on its own) but think more soft alternative (80s) pop with argubaly far better lyrics and feels more intimate/personal.

oh well....are there any songs that are new territory for her at least Yes. Not going to spoil details, but she is more candid lyrically on songs thoughout this album than I'd say she ever has been about her relationship, insecurities, issues etc and some songs (like "So Long, London" and "florida") sound sonically different/adventurous for her IMO. "Guilty As Sin" and "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" sounded most instant for me personally. Where she was candid about Joe, boy oh boy...lol.

The bridge of "Smallest Man Who Ever Lived" tho..<3 "loml" sounds just heartbreaking. Similar to Folklore, this album is solid all the way through. Like seriously, I haven't heard one bad song/skip IMO.

Closest to a skip for me is "Fresh out the Slammer." Just not immediate like the rest. I'll revisit it eventually/soon but the rest were all home runs.

Don't ask me why, as it doesn't sound like it, but it gives me chill "Mirrorball" vibes and I love it and THAT transition. Radio is gonna be the issue. I only hear like one or two potential radio hits here, but idgaf as the worst song on here is still better than the #1 radio hit "Karma" IMO. "The Alchemy" should have made the album too! Lol I want those who call her "vanilla" to hear this album.

Man this album is so disappointing. It’s like a mid midnights for me. This tweet says it all for me. The only song I liked was “I can do it with a broken heart”. Zero radio singles on here too.

Yeah it's not your catchy, pop, shiny, high-gloss record. It's poetry to music really. It will absolutely hit for the right folks and the rest will call it a snooze fest (like they did with Folklore). Lol

ENOUGH with discussing leaks. Omg I second this. This’ll likely be (one of) the biggest week in music history and Taylor is an artist with plenty of Easter eggs to figure out leading up to everything. I’d like the discussion to be about that and not having to read spoilers, please.

Dunno how *spoilers* were posted when there are no details, song titles we already have known, and a sound we all already suspected? Like? You can't be spoiled from an impression. Or are we just vying for THIS release for some odd reason to be the first in this forum's history we don't discuss (since we're suddenly so sentimental about leaked songs and albums now). LOL I didn't think it was an issue unless we actually shared or asked for links and even in my thoughts I was pretty vague.

"This is the album I was praying for. It's giving maroon. It's giving so it goes. It's giving don't blame me. It's giving dress. It's giving clean. It's giving is it over now. Etc"
If this description is accurate, I will adore this album.
