All the Folklore talk made me want to rank:
1. Cardigan (aged like wine, it’s perfect in every way and sits third in her catalog overall for me) 2. Peace (still my favorite songwriting to date from her and that atmosphere of it…) 3. Invisible String (same vein as Peace, just immaculately smooth and poignant vibes and songwriting) 4. Exile (mildly overhyped, but it’s very very good… I will never love bon iver’s voice though, sorry) 5. Mirrorball 6. Seven (completes the underrated trio along with Peace and Mirrorball) 7. This Is Me Trying (at leassst I’m tryingggg) 8. My Tears Ricochet (chorus let’s down the absolutely brilliant verses just a tad) 9. The 1 10. August (Swifties have been trying SO hard with this from day 1 istg, but for me it’s always just been “good” and nothing more) 11. Epiphany 12. Illicit Affairs 13. Hoax 14. The Last Great American Dynasty 15. Betty (the other one I feel like Swifties pushed hard at the time, but not for me) 16. Mad Woman (kinda like if IDSB got stripped of all its oomph and spark)

Some random folklore track thoughts:
- August, to me, just always puts me in a good mood. It’s a perfect soundtrack kind of song. - Exile is indeed just a smidge overrated but still excellent. It’s so epic live, with Bon or not. - Seven is really underrated. It’s not one of my album faves, but I don’t think folklore would be the same without it. It’s so nostalgic and cozy and easy and singer-songwriter-y, and it’s perfectly placed in the album where you’re “deep in it” and it just gives you exactly the essence of this project. - cardigan really took quite awhile to grow on me. Idk, it feels really daring to me that they released it as the first single, even still. It really shines being at the top of the album. - The 1 is just…perfect. And, to me, it speaks to Taylor’s *taste* more than anything else. She created a song calibrated to set the vibe of the album off the *exact* right way; “cardigan” would have been too jarring and downtrodden, too many other songs would be weird as intros into the world. The 1 is just perfect. - My Tears Richochet is such a highlight. - Illicit Affairs has some of my favorite writing she’s ever done, and I LOVE that she’s clearly proud of it to the point where she gave it its due on the tour. This song is so subtly addicting, it’s definitely in my top 3/4 of folklore. - TLGAD, aside from being a chill, easy bop, with a super cool subject matter, does a LOT to lighten the first chunk of the album. Could you imagine cardigan-exile-My Tears in a row? That’d be a lot. - Mirrorball continues to be one of the most original songs she’s ever done. I just love the subject matter, too — I think it has one of Taylor’s strongest metaphors (the mirrorball) in her discography.
- Out of the first 11 excellent songs, this is me trying and invisible string probably are the bottom of the grouping. What’s nice about invisible string is, again, that coziness — the song makes you feel like you’re being gently hugged, and there’s something about the intimacy of the run of tracks from mirrorball, seven, august, to this, that just works *so well*. - This is me trying has some amazing lyricism, but I felt like, couldn’t decide if it wanted that bridge to be a true “moment” or not and the song sort of putters to its end when I felt like it was building to a liftoff.
- Betty is my cut of this album, I’m sorry. I like it a little more than one or two other songs, but Betty is by far the least interesting, and the fandom really pushed it on top of that, making an already middling and uninteresting song be overrated. I probably like mad woman less than this song, but at least mad woman is more interesting.
- Epiphany is good but folklore is already fairly sleepy to then have a five minute trod at the end of the album — and, of course, coupled with it being a “Taylor head voice” song, which, I just never really like when she does those (Labyrinth is definitely my least listened to song on Midnights). I don’t think this song should be cut, and I don’t really know where else to put it, but if folklore has been playing from the start, by the time epiphany comes, I’m ready to skip it.
- Thank God for peace at the end of folklore. What a moment. And it’s the kind of moment that feels pretty unique in her discography. Can’t believe it doesn’t resonate for a chunk of people.
- Hoax is super vulnerable, but it’s a hard way to end the album. She clearly made a sort of quick-ish decision (since it was written at the very end if I recall), and I wish she had rethought the decision to end it there. Folklore doesn’t need to end happily but maybe a little down would have been nice.
- I still don’t know what to really make of the lakes. I feel like she was going for painting a sad and romantic atmosphere that you simultaneously love (like the way one can love a tear-jerker), but I just don’t think it lands. I think this was clearly the original closer of folklore — it has that sad melancholy “but WITH YOU” vibe she did way more vulnerable and specifically in hoax. I don’t really think this song adds much to the folklore experience.

Mad Woman (kinda like if IDSB got stripped of all its oomph and spark) Seven is SO underrated - one of my all time favorites of all time. The lyrical content is so sad (lost friendships, childhood abuse, etc) but for anybody who has lived that, just wow. I wouldn't call this cozy and nostalgic, per se, but it does completely sum of the essence of the album 100%

I made my own album called Folkmore. I am a big fan of Folklore over Evermore, so I sprinkled in some of those songs into Folklore replacing them tracks I don't much care for.
01. The 1 02. Cardigan 03. The Last Great American Dynasty 04. Exile 05. My tears Richochet 06. Mirrorball 07. Willow 08. August 09. This Is Me Trying 10. Illicit Affairs 11. Invisible String 12. Champagne Problems 13. Ivy 14. Betty 15. Peace 16. Right Where You Left Me

This may be an unpopular opinion, but other than than being of the same broader genre and by the same artist, I don't actually find Folklore and Evermore similar enough that they could be mashed together as albums. I feel like they do quite different things, set different moods. Cut from the same cloth sure, but I certainly don't see Evermore as a 'lesser' Folklore.

Peace is such a beautiful song. It makes me sad now because I think the crux of this song is why her and Joe didn't make it (Obviously, we will uncover more on Friday).
"Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?"
She can buy and give everything in life, but she can't give any of her partners a normal life.

She released a similar calendar and it said “Anti-Hero” music video at 8am and “crazy surprise” at 3am, which was the deluxe edition.

I’m curious if Fortnight as the lead would cause any internet seo issues for it given the game is still the most played one in the world (so surely searched constantly every day)? Granted, that does use its own spelling of the word.

In Taylor's case, it really does not matter how they do this. Any way they do will work.

Tea spilled by Mr. S on ATRL {Spoiler} Mostly midtempo, very lyrics forward. She's putting a lot of humor (or attempts) into the songs.
....This was obvious. I hope the "attempts" part is just a non-Swiftie having trouble with her humor at first glance

They would have no standing if they tried to sue.

They asked if the song “Fortnight” would run into any SEO (search engine optimization) issues since there is a popular video game of the same name (but spelled differently). For any other artist I’d say maybe with the SEO issue but I don’t think Taylor will have a problem. If it were spelled identical to the game, then yes, but I think search engines will learn quickly that people are looking for the new TS single and not the video game if they spell it Fortnight instead of Fortnite. People could easily just type in “Fortnight Taylor Swift” to get better results anyway, so I don’t think SEO will be much of an issue here @pikandru

She is currently revealing a "letter" with Youtube Shorts, and so far RTFH are revealed, so FORTNIGHT lead single (essentially) confirmed.

No worries, I was very confused myself for a moment like “why would the game devs sue her??” haha. The thought of me thinking the game invented that word gave me a good chuckle though lol. Anyways, I just recently saw data about how it was still the most played game of 2023, so it made me wonder about the seo of it all. Especially since searching game related things on search engines is huge for people playing a game. I agree with zaclord though that the different spelling will hopefully avoid much issue.

This all feels soooo damn corny lol Pretty sure this is for diehard Taylor fans who enjoy puzzles and her easter eggs, which from what I've seen, people are enjoying! I'm glad she's doing something prior to release personally and we all know she loves this kind of thing by now. I don't find it corny, but I'm not particularly interested in this one either. Is that IHeart album premiere tonight? As in before its out? If so how would one listen? lol
