Not into the song at all, but I am glad that Raphael Saadiq gets another hit to his credits, maybe Grammy next year for him.

99/171 is good but i expected more . Ariana and JT got close to the full panel with songs that have underperformed . i expect this will get more adds in the coming weeks.

If Texas goes #1, she will become the 1st black female artist to send a country song to top the charts right? Wow on black history month too!! That’s amazing!! It’s well deserved! Yes on both counts with a slight asterisk on the second part. While she will technically hit the #1 mark during Black History Month, the chart it's dated for is technically March 2nd. Still a win either way and especially for a song so unlike the rest of her catalogue.

Honestly, I kinda like this. I’m not big on country music but this is a fun lil hoedown bop. I definitely like this way more than 16 Carriages, which I’m not really feeling. It’s interesting to see Beyonce take a complete 180, going from dance to country, but I love the idea of Beyonce taking back genres started by black artists. I might not be big into country music but I support this Renaissance trilogy.

As with many a song that has come before it, my lukewarm reaction has been obliterated by the unparalleled joy of drunk dancing to it at a gay bar.

Radio deals often cause a song to be frontloaded. This is organically rising at an impressive pace and could see it being #1 across all formats by the time Act II is out.

Wow, this is smashing. Nobody expected that. When’s the last time she had such a big solo hit on her hands? 2009?

So no one is considering "Break My Soul" a hit then? Didn't expect that.

So no one is considering "Break My Soul" a hit then? Didn't expect that. it performed decently enough so I do consider it a hit in some sense. It did spend two weeks at the top but its longevity was the issue. Even though her follow up wasn’t number 1, it still became the bigger of the two.

I know people are US centric here, but BMS was MASSIVE in the UK despite never reaching #1, was absolutely everywhere. I remember hearing the taxi driver humming it on my way to Heathrow.

#1 in the UK. This is her sixth #1 there and her first in 14 years after "Telephone", her collaboration with Lady Gaga.

The stats don’t seem to agree. BMS finished #38 on the year-end UK chart, same ranking as the US. BMS was a moderate hit in Europe and Cuff It was a major hit.

Cuff It and Break My Soul were both huge hits. Did y'all forget her huge slump between Telephone and Break My Soul? particularly on Pop radio and European charts. Do not compare those two Renaissance hits to, say, As It Was. Grade them on a curve of how much they outperformed most of her singles released directly before. TEXAS HOLD 'EM doesn't happen without those two songs opening the door for her on radio again.

I'm just happy that Beyoncé's success and impact is reflecting in the charts properly again. I swear to god Lemonade and its singles would've been so much bigger had they not done the whole tidal exclusivity thing and have the "Formation" youtube video as unlisted for a year.
"TEAXAS HOLD 'EM" is going to be a massive multiweek #1 I think. Perhaps even 10+ weeks. Streaming holding very strong and airplay potential massive.
The icing on the cake would be if she released a music video for the song!

Right, and stats always tell the whole story. I’m saying this as a UK resident that BMS was huge hit, a hit that resonated with people. Straight men were chanting it at football matches, BBC played it as their new year song after the countdown. BMS was No.38 on Year-End Hot 100 as well with 2 weeks at No.1, the fact that it never reached No.1 in the UK and achieved the same YE position shows that it had consistency. There were songs with multiple weeks at No.1 that people didn’t know.

TEXAS HOLD 'EM doesn't happen without those two songs opening the door for her on radio again. To be fair, Tidal exclusivity limited what could've been quite a large/successful era with Lemonade. In the UK/Europe particularly, Tidal's streaming share of the market was much less than the US. "Hold Up" would've a top 10 hit in the UK and had the "Formation" video been on youtube from the get go (instead of being unlisted for a few months only able to view via a link) it would've also done really well (2016-2017 was peak youtube).
