Very nice estimated sales. I agree they could've been a bit better had the rollout been less messy. Hopefully the limited edition becomes a valuable article in the future. And did I read Elvis? That's a funny way to spell Roy Hamilton. I said what I said. She sounded like Elvis to me in a couple of verses (02:47 to 02:52) Well, it's understandable that the first person that you think of when you hear that voice is Elvis, because the world is what it is and Elvis is the best selling solo artist ever (?). But where do you think Elvis got that style and mannerisms from? Considering the themes of the album, and the fact that Roy Hamilton is even one of the artists featured on the interlude right before Texas Hold 'Em, I think it's pretty clear she's not channeling Elvis.

Criminal that it has her lowest opening of her solo albums but it has truly stood the test of time.

Really impressive hold for such a length of time. I wonder how much self-titled would have done with a full tracking week...

I’m so proud of my girl! I’m in love with this album. For me it works best listening from start to finish. The only song I would cut is Desert Eagle(sorry).
And y’all look, Queen B outselling all y’all faves again*(unless your a Swiftie, in that case, carry on).
Hive Hive.
I remember joining Pulse in 07. I miss all those artist that use to be popular like Gaga/Katy(legit one of my faves), Kelly(although she makes a great Rosie O’Donnell replacement), Alicia Keys, Pink, X-Tina(Wait was she even still popular by then?), Mimi(TMB reminds a classic), Carrie Underwood, Brit Brit, Madonna, Rihanna(TBD).
See y’all in a year for Act III. Beysus Bless* xo

Lion King and that joint album really could've sealed her fate. Thank God she dumped that era. The Lion King companion album doesn't get the respect it deserves because the movie was so terrible, but there is a lot of innovation on it, and you can definitely see how it fits in Bey's efforts to pull from Black musical genres and create something that can transcend

I agree. They should have been upfront about this. My current theory, based on information I found online, is this: - In 2021, towards the end of the year, there were rumors that Beyoncé "visited a vinyl plant" and "picked colors" for her next LP pressing. - Now that we know COWBOY CARTER was intended to be Act I, and considering RENAISSANCE only came out on black vinyl, it's safe to assume "BEYINCÉ" was set and ready to go in 2021 and vinyl production was underway for a 2022 launch, with red, white, and blue variants. (Probably the same copies we're getting now!) - There is also concrete evidence that the standard COWBOY CARTER album art was shot relatively recently, while the limited/physical cover photo is older. - Then, somewhere along the way, they pivoted to RENAISSANCE being Act I. Which is why RENAISSANCE only had 30k vinyl copies ready to be shipped on release day in July (the limited web store edition) and the standard vinyl was delayed until October. - The question of "missing tracks" still remains -- are they the songs she worked on after 2021? "SPAGHETTII" surely sounds recent to me based on lyrical content and production choices. "YA YA" and "FLAMENCO" I'm less certain of, though the former might have been influenced by Tina Turner's passing. TL;DR -- due to the changes in scheduling, they ended up with a bunch of stock that has an earlier version of the album & cover art. instead of chucking those out, they branded it "limited edition" and sold to fans. it's a good choice for the environment and lining up Bey's pockets, but unfortunately deceives the consumers. here's another fun little detail:

Thank you for this music history class. I really wasn't trying to downplay anyone, I just cited off the top of my head.

Up to her highest meta score, beating Lemonade. Hope it stays there, I feel fairly confident after a whole lot of plays this weekend it deserves the title of her best so far. Down to 91, which puts it below Lemonade and ties it with Renaissance. I think it's better than both of those albums.

Not that it’s not still good, but for me it’s easily her weakest studio LP output post IASF as far as the music. I wonder what this album would have if it was released with knockout cinematic visuals as well? Probably one of the highest metas ever tbh. Which also leads me to the point that it is starting to feel like she’s going to unleash some kind of LOTR epic film for all three acts at once. Why else do absolutely ZERO visuals for anything with these?

I am one for visuals, but I'm also loving how she's letting the music talk.

I have landed on this outline as how I’d most like to see them handle the singles for the era:
2. Jolene (Late April, all formats) 3. Levii’s Jeans (Mid August, all except country) / Protector (country) 4. II Most Wanted (January, all formats… give us an EVENT video with them to drum up hype for such a post-album release)
In a dream/perfect world since 5th non-dual release singles don’t exist in the streaming era: 5. Riiverdance or Tyrant (Pop/Rhythmic/Urban)
I think she could maximize an absolutely massive era across multiple formats this way, but knowing the streaming era we’ll be lucky if we even get a third single.

^Gods, i WISH Riiverdance would even be considered but I feel like it's structure is too far away from what radio would touch.
I've been thinking "Bodyguard" would make a good single. That and "Levii's Jeans" are the ones that sound the most radio friendly to me.

Bodyguard is the 4th most streamed song after TxHE, Jolene and II Most Wanted, the biggest gainer currently. It also seems to be the most popular used for non-album related content on TikTok after TxHE. Def the most obvious single choice. But her team seems to be pushing II Most Wanted.

I prefer Lemonade And Ren over CC. I don’t think that will change cause i never liked country music and i can only use 6-8 tracks from this album. Happy for the Hive though.

"Baby, let me rattle that snake with my venom Denim on denim on denim on denim"
That is my absolute favorite part of the album. Absolutely love the melody.

I can't overstate how happy I am that she's actually delivering three acts.
There's been so many scrapped concepts, "To Be Continued..." that never actually gets continued, etc. among the Pop & R&B girls, so it's nice to see her go all in and commit to delivering on the stated concept.
