^Gods, i WISH Riiverdance would even be considered but I feel like it's structure is too far away from what radio would touch. I've been thinking "Bodyguard" would make a good single. That and "Levii's Jeans" are the ones that sound the most radio friendly to me. I personally don’t think Bodyguard would work as a single, despite the streaming. Especially with Taylor trying HARD to make I Can See You happen, yet it being basically the only single that hasn’t happened for her since Midnights launched. The two are cut from the same cloth, imo that sound gets old quick. We see many times that initial steaming doesn’t always equal a great single choice. I honestly think it’s getting a major boost from being right between the two most buzzed songs of the album upon release (Texas and Jolene).

Beyoncé is the first black artist to take a country album to #1 on the UK official albums chart. Also, she's the first artist ever to achieve a UK official chart double with a country album and country single ("Texas Hold 'Em").

Billboard had 407k: www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/beyonce-cowboy-carter-number-one-billboard-200-country-albums-chart-1235650662/Beyoncé Achieves Eighth No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 With ‘Cowboy Carter’By Keith Caulfield 04/7/2024 The set also starts at No. 1 on Top Country Albums, making Beyoncé the first Black woman ever to have led the list. Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter gallops in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated April 13), debuting with 407,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending April 4, according to Luminate. It’s the superstar’s eighth No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200. With 407,000 units earned, Cowboy Carter claims the biggest week of 2024 and the largest since Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) bowed with 1.653 million units on the Nov. 11, 2023-dated list. Cowboy Carter’s launch is also Beyoncé’s biggest week, by units, since her Lemonade album debuted at No. 1 with 653,000 units (mostly from traditional album sales) on the May 14, 2016, chart. The new effort also lands Beyoncé her biggest streaming week ever. Cowboy Carter also launches at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums, Americana/Folk Albums and Top Album Sales charts. She’s the first Black woman ever to have led the Top Country Albums list, dating to its January 1964 inception. Cowboy Carter also claims the biggest week for a country album, by units earned, since last July, when Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), opened at No. 1 on the July 22, 2023 chart with 716,000 units. Cowboy Carter was introduced by the singles “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” which were released during the Super Bowl festivities on Feb. 11. The tracks debuted and have peaked (through the charts dated April 6) at Nos. 1 and 9, respectively, on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, marking Beyoncé’s first entries on the tally. They have also reached Nos. 1, for two weeks, and 38 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. Of Cowboy Carter’s first-week unit sum of 407,000, SEA units comprise 232,000 (equaling 300.41 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs), traditional album sales comprise 168,000 and TEA units comprise 7,000. With 300.41 million on-demand official streams, Cowboy Carter earns Beyoncé her biggest streaming week ever and the fourth-largest for a country album. Cowboy Carter marks Beyoncé’s eighth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. She previously led the list with Renaissance (in 2022), Lemonade (2016), her self-titled album (2013), 4 (2011), I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008), B’Day (2006) and Dangerously In Love (2003). Beyoncé breaks out of a tie with Janet Jackson for the fourth-most No. 1s among women. Swift has the most, with 13, followed by Barbra Streisand (11), Madonna (nine), Beyoncé (eight) and Jackson (seven). Cowboy Carter’s sales were supported by the album’s availability across a number of configurations, released on March 29. It was issued as standard 19-track edition on vinyl (across four variants, each pressed on different color vinyl [black, red, white and blue] with alternate back cover artwork), a CD with an additional song (“Flamenco”) and a digital download and streaming edition (both in clean and explicit versions, with three bonus songs “Flamenco,” “Spaghetti” and “Ya Ya,” plus two interludes). The CD edition was issued in four variants (each with different back cover art). Two of the variants were sold as stand-alone items, while two of the CDs were only available inside two deluxe boxed sets (each with a different branded T-shirt contained inside a branded box). All physical configurations of the album were sold exclusively through Beyoncé’s official webstore, while the digital download and streaming editions were widely available. The vinyl edition of Cowboy Carter sold 62,000 copies (across its four variants combined), marking Beyoncé’s biggest week on vinyl and the largest week for any vinyl album in 2024. Cowboy Carter boasts an eclectic lineup of billed guest artists, including Tanner Adell, Beyoncé’s daughter Rumi Carter, Miley Cyrus, Willie Jones, Tiera Kennedy, Linda Martell, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Post Malone, Reyna Roberts, Shaboozey, and Brittney Spencer. Among the many additional players on the album: 070 Shake, Jon Batiste, Ryan Beatty, Gary Clark Jr., The-Dream, Rhiannon Giddens, Paul McCartney, Pharrell, Robert Randolph, Nile Rodgers, Raphael Saadiq, Sara Watkins and Stevie Wonder.

All I can think of from the Billboard article is that Beyoncé will tie Madonna with nine #1 albums with act iii before Janet releases anything. #lolsob

Album is head and shoulders above all of her others for me at this point. I cannot get over my infatuation with nearly the whole thing… it is well on its way to my favorite albums of all time tier if it keeps up like this. I hope she wins everything, and honestly think she might this time. This is a VERY different scenario than Renaissance imo when it comes to something like AOTY for lots of reasons I don’t really have energy to dive into right now.

Any inside info on the physical version dropping tomorrow? My guess is it's just the same Beyincé Act II that is on her site since it has the same cover?

SUPERVINYL in LA were selling autographed copies of the vinyl with the cowboy cover (it's the same BEYINCE edition but just with the horse cover as a front poster insert) She was there for a photoshoot (like she did for RENAISSANCE) when asked about the "complete" edition B apparently told staff there are plans in place for a reissue.

Hopefully the reissue comes this year. I saw vinyl copies when I was record shopping yesterday, but they were all the Beyince version.

It hasn't even been released domestically in Japan yet, I've been keeping an eye on Sony, lol. They just have a statement up that details of domestic discs will be released at a later date. I hope they at least get the full pressing.

Do we think we’ll get a tour for act ii? I so regret missing the Renaissance that I can’t miss another.
Also, I had a thought that maybe act iii is a gospel inspired album, but I know most are thinking rock.

Another full tour seems really excessive to me. If she does, I would guess next year? But then does act iii also get a tour? All seems a bit too much. RWT was massive.

Putting this here since I don’t think he has his own thread, but A Bar Song by Shaboozey is a BOP and a half. Hive, get this man his hit.

I don't think act iii is going to be Gospel, Soul, Neo-Soul, etc. because those are still seen as 'black' genres.
Dance, Country, and Rock have been seen as 'white' genres and the contributions of pioneering black artists erased, so that's why I think act iii will be rock. We've already seen flashes of it with Sister Rosetta Tharpe being in the Smoke Hour interlude and YaYa being a last minute addition to this record. But Tina Turner also bounced between rock and country across her career.

I’ve seen Beyoncé on tour twice (2016, 2018) but I didn’t bother seeing her when she came to my city last year since I’ve seen her a few times before and Renaissance wasn’t my cup of tea. However, as a huge country fan and a casual Beyoncé fan, Cowboy Carter is my JAM. I do think she’s reaching a bit of a different demographic with this album than she has in the past few album cycles and it would be a missed opportunity not to tour on this album. I know my husband and I would be first in line for tickets this go round.

I asked my Alexa to play "Ya Ya" by Beyoncé and instead it started playing "YAYA" by 6ix9ine.... I-. Their names do not sound anything like each other.

And imagine her vocals with epic guitar solo type productions… And then after the Act project I would (selfishly) request B’Day part 2 please!
