I was already hyped, but honestly, that teaser of the song at the end? I can feel my Spotify Wrapped #1 for this year incoming, lol.

The fact that the title itself hasn’t leaked yet is pretty surprising

As Chuckles said, I'm impressed the title of the song hasn't already leaked up until now. I guess FBR have really stepped up their game since the last few years

"Overcompensate" is the title of the lead single from their upcoming seventh album Clancy. I saw some "leaks" that I presumed to be fake, do we know if this is confirmed yet? [EDIT] I stand corrected.

Is there a release date for the single? Premieres tomorrow as the Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 (as mentioned a couple of posts above) from 10am. PST / 1pm. EST / 6pm. GMT. https://www.instagram.com/p/C35njt5R1BA

the sample is giving me basement rave albeit with a bit of edge, which makes it potentially more exciting then anything off their last album (minus the final 2 songs)

Okay. So my initial feelings about this;
It’s an amazing song. I love the tempo changes. However…. I don’t know how I feel about this as the “first single”.
If they do what they did in 2015 for the Blurryface era (“Fairly Local” introduced the era, then 3 weeks later— “Tear in my Heart” came out as the actual radio single) then I’ll be happy, but I don’t see this doing well on any format the way it is.
I could be wrong. I HOPE I’m wrong. I want to see this song hit #1

The "second half" of the song feels more radio-ready than the first, so it wouldn't surprise me if they sent out a radio edit. Honestly, I wasn't expecting that change, but it made the song sound fresh and now I have "way too short for my soul, corazón" stuck in my head, lol.

I think if they sent it without the intro whatsoever, I’d be game for this making a BIG run on Alt. However, I can see people tuning out after the first 30 seconds. Or alternatively, expecting a completely different song after the first 45 seconds. Regardless… It’s a bold choice for the band and I’m here for it

Unique is the word I would use. Not exactly revving me up, up I don't hate it. I can hear why fans of this band would love the song.

The music on this is great. Reminds me a lot of Mutemath. Yes the influence of Paul Meany on this song is very easy to hear. Production is simply great, and although I would've preferred a continuation of the first half of the song, it doesn't get boring at any moment

I’m not usually on the Rock/Alternative thread, but this is a pretty good song that I feel can be at least, a top 10 hit on Alternative. Could this song be a return to the Hot 100, especially since it debuted at #90 on US Spotify with 455,239? Too early to tell?

Come on. This ain’t it. Love this band too.
Kings of Leon and Twenty One Pilot quietly put up new singles, why? They are both duds.
Looks like time will pass with these two bands being put behind.
This literally sounds like a Moby B-Side found in a fight scene on the Bourne Identity, quit praising this rip-off.

Tear in My Heart was 210>311>540 Jumpsuit was 664>1048>1407 Shy Away was 345>701>1281 Overcompensate is 342>682>?
For “first 3 days for the first single” reference
(During the “Blurryface” era, “Fairly Local” was initially listed as the lead single on March 16th, however on March 29th they listed “Tear in my Heart” as the lead single, not sure if this will happen to “Overcompensate”. I guess we’ll see how radio receives it in the first week?)

Not so much about this song, it’s grown on me after listening to it a bunch.
