I knew Carnival would be the biggest song on the album the day it was released but that 2.7m on Spotify yesterday shocked me. This could spend a few weeks at #2 behind Texas Holdem due to weak radio but better streaming. Giving Flowers vs. Kill Bill.

Radio - especially Rhythmic/Urban - can't ignore Carnival for much longer.
I'm sure KW's label issues probably meant a radio promo wasn't a priority.
I mean who switches labels during an already shortened release week yet still manages to hit #1 on B200 and Streaming. It's discouraging/impressive.

I can see Carnival going even higher on streaming and potentially usurping Texas Hold βEm on the Hot 100. No matter what think about Kanye West, you cannot make a banger not bang

There's more to the world than just the USA? Physical ALSO got promoted but was never shipped to radio (same as Training Season) Training Season is doing good steaming globally and will be promoted outside of the USA (just like Physical) Houdini in hindsight is doing quite well given its already above 'yes, and?' globally. Uh, you are in a Hot 100 thread. Why post here if you do not care about American performances? Either way, when did a performance at the Grammys become non-promotion? Yβall are on here saying anything I think they mean radio promotion. A song is still not a real single these days unless it receives radio promotion from the label. But furthermore, just because it isn't receiving radio promotion in the U.S. now, doesn't mean they're not planning to start it soon. I'm also not sure I agree that TS isn't resonating with the public, at least no less than Houdini. TS is still fairly high on Spotify (though yes it was put at #1 on Today's Top Hits). I don't remember how high Houdini was at the same point, and whether or not it was also put at #1 on TTH. Maybe TS isn't higher because it's receiving no radio promotion?

"TEXAS HOLD 'EM" has a decent sized advantage on youtube which helps close the distance in streaming on Spotify and Apple Music. Plus it's doing better in pure sales. Hopefully BeyoncΓ© releases a music video for the song and its airplay gap will keep it at #1 for a while.

With how weak the charts are, if Saturn holds up relatively well it should see a Top 10 debut or not?

No matter what think about Kanye West, you cannot make a banger not bang Think yβall are underestimating Texas Hold βEm tremendously. Itβs doing far better on Amazon and Apple Music, plus digital so even without radio, Texas may still have the edge. I even remember seeing one of the predictors saying Amazon music seems to be accumulating more streams than AM. Despite Carnival leading in streams on AM and Spotify for the majority of the week, it was still beaten by its main competitor for accumulative streams across all streaming platforms by Texas. Thatβs kinda saying a lot.

I donβt expect Kanye to pass Bey anytime soon tbh. Theyβre practically even on streaming and she has radio on her side to boot.

Wonder what is the market share between AM and Spotify now? Seems that the Spotify numbers have increased a lot. It takes 350k to even chart. Apple Music is tanking rapidly. In 2020-2021, Spotify would routinely make up 50% of the total US on-demand audio for most pop songs β now it's closer to 60-65%. For example, folklore was about 55% Spotify but Midnights was about 65%. I wouldn't be surprised to see TTPD be 70%... The most surprising is rap though. Redrum and Carnival are over 60% which would be unheard of back in 2020. They'd have been around 45% or less... I'm glad for this development. Spotify openly shares numbers and has an incentive to keep sharing them given its total dominance, with no competition there's no threat of looking like a weak platform. It's easier to reference what the most streamed songs are if you just look at one platform, and its charts and fans' ability to share the numbers help feed its increasing relevance. Everyone shares Spotify numbers and it's the most talked about platform for chart performance nowadays, only second to Billboard (globally it's #1 though). The mindshare and brand value from that is huge and the part of the reason why AM is losing relevance.

The mindshare and brand value from that is huge and the part of the reason why AM is losing relevance. that does not count the free Spotify users which is about 60%. Spotify for me is much easier to navigate plus being able to access every song's streaming numbers.

Happy to see Muni Long getting a new peak on spotify and the Hot 100 potentially, I hope her song becomes a big hit - it's so good! They should push it to Pop/HAC radio as well.

Spotify numbers look really good compared to early 2022! That was an abysmally empty era for the charts in general.
