She should've dropped the album Q1 2021 with the momentum of back to back #1 smash singles. Nothing has really stuck since then. The fact that we're almost in Q2 *2024* without an album is just laughable. Maybe the Shakira collab will get her some momentum back? |

Why is Warner fraudulently mass buying their artists' songs lmao.
Benson Boone last week (thankfully they failed, lol @ their terrible timing) and now Teddy Swims this week (will probably work this time).
Billboard: "NoOoOoOoOoO we vetted the sales and they all came from unique credit cards!!! It's impossible for Warner to have the resources to create farms of fake US accounts and credit cards. No fraud bro we promise. We don't just bow down to the majors and accept their fraud... that would be unethical"

Yeah, they could be asking all their staff members to buy the song, for example. Although even if this was the case I still don't know if it actually counts as fraud or not. If the staff members aren't actually being forced or coerced into it, just simply being asked to, then it could be argued that it's not much different to an artist asking their fans to download a song on social media as both the label and the artist have a vested interest in getting sales. |

It's not like either artist doesn't already have a fanbase primed for such a campaign: Benson Boone built their career off TikTok, including adjacency to American Idol, and Teddy Swims is both having a slow-burn viral moment (gradually getting more people aware of both themself and the song) and has been grassrooting their presence through various features in the past few years (I was introduced to them from their songs with Dance artists Illenium and MK).

It's INCREDIBLY unlikely for either Benson or Teddy (who are both practically unknown GP artists right now) to have people mass buying the different versions of their songs in equal portions for multiple days - especially since they're being more effective than even the Barbz lol. Find me any promotional video where they told people (e.g. on their TikTok) to do that. It's very obviously Warner doing it.

i thought Texas Hold Em was going to be a huge multi week #1 song . it got two weeks but now is down to #7 on Spotify and #9 on Apple. It got a heavy boost from the superbowl audience. Song is good but hooks aren't the strongest. Beyonce's fandom also aren't big streamers likely due to Beyonce keeping her music exclusive to Tidal so long. It hurt her transition to streaming. Taylor had the same problem until the lover and then folklore brought her fandom fully into streaming. |

^Agreed. The fact that Telephone is her longest charting Hot 100 song at 33 weeks confirms this. If somehow Texas Hold 'Em can manage to surpass that, it would be a good accomplishment regardless of its weeks at #1 even considering how easy it appears to accomplish this nowadays.
