Was not expecting Bey to be out of the top 10 on Spotify this soon. Still a huge win for her overall but seemed like it was shaping up to be a monster.

Honestly, don't hate me but I never got the hype for the Beyoncé song. The Renaissance hits were much better imo. Texas Hold'em is still a big win for her though.

She extends her record for the most leaders. The song also tops Adult Pop Airplay.
Taylor Swift’s favorite number – 13 – now doubles as the amount of No. 1s that she has achieved on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart. She tallies her record-extending 13th leader on the list as “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From the Vault]” ascends to the top of the March 16-dated ranking.
Following Swift, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna each boast 11 Pop Airplay No. 1s.
Notably, the song, on Swift’s album 1989 (Taylor’s Version), on Republic Records, marks her first track that has topped a Billboard airplay chart from a “Taylor’s Version” album, among the four rerecorded sets that she has released so far.
Here’s a recap of Swift’s 13 No. 1s on Pop Airplay, which measures songs’ weekly plays, as tabulated by Mediabase and provided to Billboard by Luminate, on over 150 U.S. mainstream top 40 radio stations. (The chart began in October 1992.)
Title, Weeks at No. 1, Year(s):
“Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From the Vault],” one (to-date), 2024 “Cruel Summer,” 10, 2023 “Karma,” one, 2023 “Anti-Hero,” three, 2022-23 “Delicate,” one, 2018 “Look What You Made Me Do,” one, 2017 “Wildest Dreams,” two, 2015 “Bad Blood” (feat. Kendrick Lamar), five, 2015 “Style,” three, 2015 “Blank Space,” six, 2014-15 “Shake It Off,” two, 2014 “I Knew You Were Trouble.,” seven, 2013 “Love Story,” one, 2009
Swift, meanwhile, links her third consecutive Pop Airplay No. 1, as “Is It Over Now?” follows the rules of “Cruel Summer” and “Karma.” She notches her second streak of at least three straight leaders on the chart, after she reigned with the first five singles from 1989 in 2014-15: “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Bad Blood” and “Wildest Dreams.”
1989 (Taylor’s Version) launched atop the Billboard 200 chart in November, becoming her 13th No. 1 album – the most among women. The same week, the song soared in at No. 1 on the all-genre, multimetric Billboard Hot 100, becoming her 11th and most recent leader.
Concurrently, the track takes over at No. 1 on Adult Pop Airplay (which reflects plays on adult top 40 stations). It becomes Swift’s 12th No. 1, the most among soloists and second overall only to Maroon 5’s 15 (dating to the chart’s March 1996 start in Billboard’s pages).
All charts dated March 16 will update on Billboard.com Tuesday, March 12.

The sound was deleted on TikTok for quiet some time. It declined before, but not on this rate. It’ll probably stabilize again due to it being back on the app.

Kane Brown Drums Up New Country Airplay No. 1 With Phil Collins-Inspired ‘I Can Feel It’ The song interpolates Collins' classic "In the Air Tonight."
By Jim Asker
03/8/2024
Kane Brown earns his 11th No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart as “I Can Feel It” rises from No. 4 on the list dated March 16. During the March 1-7 tracking week, the song increased by 23% to TK million impressions, according to Luminate.
Brown co-authored “Feel” with Gabe Foust and Jaxson Free, and Dann Huff produced it.
The track interpolates Phil Collins’ 1981 classic “In the Air Tonight,” via its trademark drum solo and Brown’s reprisal of its chorus. Collins, who solely penned “Air,” is credited as a writer on “Feel.”
“I just got the news here in London after playing C2C that ‘I Can Feel It’ went No. 1 – this means so much to me,” Brown tells Billboard. “And it’s amazing to have a No. 1 with a huge legend like Phil Collins.”
Notably, Collins logs his first No. 1 on a Billboard chart as a songwriter since “Air” topped Rock Digital Song Sales for a week in August 2020. (It hit No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 1981.) Prior to “Feel,” he last led any chart as a writer of a new song when he ruled Adult Contemporary for a frame in November 2002 with his own single “Can’t Stop Loving You” (which Keith Urban covered on his 2006 album Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing, as did Taylor Swift for a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance in 2019).
With the first single from Brown’s upcoming LP, he earns his sixth consecutive Country Airplay No. 1, the longest active run among all artists. (The overall record streak belongs to Luke Combs, who rattled off a record 14 successive career-opening No. 1s in 2017-22.)
Prior to “Feel,” Brown topped Country Airplay, for one week each, with “Bury Me in Georgia” (September 2023); “Thank God,” with his wife, Katelyn Brown (February 2023); “Like I Love Country Music” (August 2022); “One Mississippi” (March 2022); and “Famous Friends,” with Chris Young (July 2021). Brown first led with “What Ifs,” featuring Lauren Alaina, for a week in October 2017.
Brown kicks off his In the Air Tonight Tour March 28 at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va., with featured acts Tyler Hubbard and Parmalee.

A year ago I would never have guessed that Tracy Chapman and Phil Collins would be writing number one country airplay hits. Who's next, Billy Joel? Michael Bolton? Bonnie Raitt?

Maybe David Bowie if Chris Young's latest goes the distance.

CSLY is a cover. Leo Sayer hit the Top 10 UK with it in 1978.

Maybe David Bowie if Chris Young's latest goes the distance. I hadn't heard that song yet, good call. Weird that covering/interpolating old pop songs seems to be the new trend in country.

CARNIVAL stays on top for a 4th week in a row as it has yet to peak in streams. It gained by 5.72% and has such a lead in streams that I don't even think Ariana Grande will be able to unseat him form the top with her new album. It certainly isn't going to be Beautiful Things which rebounded to #2 and was actually up by 10.79%. We do have some new blood in the Top 5 as End of Beginning continues its viral rise by shooting up 28.53% in streams. It seems the sun has set for TEXAS HOLD EM however as it was bleeding streams all week and was down 25.03%. SZA's Saturn was also down from its debut last week, decreasing by 16.11%. But breaking into the Top 10 and Bryson Tiller's first Top 10 hit as a solo act in years - Whatever She Wants which jumped up by 26.57% as it cements itself as a hit.
Unfortunately it was another slow week as Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, and Twenty One Pilots' comeback singles all massively underperformed, none of them even sniffing 3M in their first weeks and Twenty One Pilots didn't even make te chart proper. In fact, the highest debut - Fuerza Regida's TÚ NAME - only made 3M. We at least did see big boosts for all of the songs from UTOPIA, as well as Where the Wild Things Are and Scared to Start. Next week belongs to Ariana however so look out for a huge boost to yes, and?
Notable Gains: FE!N - 38.79% Where the Wild Things Are - 37.81% MY EYES - 28.53% Whatever She Wants - 26.57% End of Beginning - 23.69% greedy - 20.61% Scared to Start - 18.29% Agora Hills - 15.21% Wild Ones - 11.68% Water - 11.22% Beautiful Things - 10.79%

Texas Hold ‘Em did burn on me very quickly tbh Maybe it's more indicative of it being somewhat controversy fueled since it attracted a lot of attention for the "Beyonce went country!" hook. I saw a lot of comments slamming it as "not country" and "terrible" by country fans, so plenty of people who wouldn't typically listen to Beyonce checked it out only once/briefly. Most songs burn on me within a month, max. Usually less. The only songs that don't burn on me quickly are ones like Save Your Tears - I could listen to that forever and still enjoy it. There's a reason why it's the longest-lasting song of the decade, outlasting Stay and As It Was which are its main peers, and it's even on pace to outsell Blinding Lights globally in a few years' time at its current rate.

Kanye West possibly having a #1 hit that’s stable right now after what he said…that’s crazy.

I think Teddy having a +230k increase and sales and Kanye having -60k may have been enough to give him that extra point or two to get the #1.

I saw a lot of comments slamming it as "not country" and "terrible" by country fans, so plenty of people who wouldn't typically listen to Beyonce checked it out only once/briefly. Also not just controversy and people who weren't happy with the song, but positive novelty with people who were truly interested in and liked the song, but for whom it might've just burned a little quickly. But let's not get too carried away yet, saying things like "oh it was just a passing fad," or "the song isn't really that good anyway." It might be losing a lot of steam and certainly won't be another Irreplaceable or We Belong Together it looked like it was shaping up to be, but three weeks in the top 2 is still nothing to scoff at given the type of song it is and could still maintain some level of longevity, certainly much more than recent #1s like Hiss and Yes, And?
The album release, or possibly a video or major performance, could also give it a second wind, but not exactly holding my hopes up for the latter given the precedent she set with Act I.

A year ago I would never have guessed that Tracy Chapman and Phil Collins would be writing number one country airplay hits. Who's next, Billy Joel? Michael Bolton? Bonnie Raitt? Something To Talk About got sporadic Country Airplay when released. STTA would more than fit in there now. And Raitt received CMT plays for a while, as her slide guitar works well at Country. So she isn't really much of a stretch. dremolus - solarpunk- I can't figure out why Country radio dropped Where The Wild Things Are so fast. Wild Things still gaining in both sales & streaming and the song was young. It's projected 1 slot below its peak with 1/3 of its peak airplay.

It's more country than a lot of what Morgan Wallen puts out.

I mean if their audience is slamming the song I can understand why country radio won't play it. Just like Urban wouldn't play an R&B infused hiphop song by Morgan Wallen that 98% of it's audience dislikes.
Whether that means country audiences are racist and sexist assholes is a different discussion (but I do see way more country girlies doing their thing than, say, 15 years ago when Taylor and Carrie had to carry the entire genre on their backs).

I might be inclined to say Billboard will let it slide or might even be in on the plan to let all of the extra Lose Control versions count so they won't have to face the embarrassment of reporting Carnival hitting #1, but I think even in this case they should maintain their integrity and let Carnival take it because it clearly has the most genuine points.
