I'm sure it is fairly common (?) but have their been many instances of an artists having #1 and #10 in the same week? Just something I thought of looking at this weeks. Excluding "album bomb" weeks like where Taylor, etc have the entire/majority of the chart.

Noob-but-actually-not-a-noob question: how do you get twitter (x) links to show up in a Pulse post nowadays? Every time I try it, the link address just appears, not the post- thanks, anyone! Instead of using the actual "X" link, you should replace that with "Twitter". ohhhh… thanks!!

Rihanna probably could have had she continued to release and not take such a break. Drake and Taylor still have potential. Everyone else is still a bit too far off, especially if the others (Drake, Taylor) continue to get #1s as well.

Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” is steady at its No. 2 Hot 100 best, as it adds a third week atop Digital Song Sales (12,000, down 52%).
Hmm.

I understand why Billboard only credits her with 7 debuts at number one, but it's worth mentioning that the two outliers, the two Weeknd songs, didn't hit number one until the Ariana remixes were released. So no, they didn't debut at number one, but their first week with her featured is when they went to number one. None of her chart toppers have ever had a traditional climb to the top.
Also, I'm having a brain fart on the 26 number ones John Lennon wrote. 20 with the Beatles, plus 2 solo, Peter And Gordon's "A World Without Love," and 2 remakes/interpolations (Elton John's "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and "Stars On 45"). What is the 26th one? I know I'm gonna kick myself...
EDIT: It just popped in my head - David Bowie's "Fame"!

I’m glad that Billboard filtered out some of those absurdly fraudulent sales for Lose Control. What was Warner thinking lol?

I'm shocked/appalled at the cheating? But also it doesn't even really need it then because if Billboard filtered out everything it was STILL #2 song so why are they even risking their reputation and his potential career at fraud on charts when it naturally is already doing well ?

Everyone else is still a bit too far off, especially if the others (Drake, Taylor) continue to get #1s as well. Drake, Taylor, and Ari are, at least for the time being, safe for at least a #1 per new era, but that’s not likely to get any of them over 20 before those streaks wear themselves out. The days of racking up 3 number-ones from an album are over, making 20 a pretty formidable total.

That is true. If Taylor was smart, she should launch her new era with the single a few weeks before, get a #1 and then release the album with a new video for another key track to secure another #1 release week

The first (previous) single will always have an advantage in airplay, Ariana tried it in 2019 with buwygib, and both singles had similar streaming numbers (around 60M), but 7 rings had like 50M more airplay (aud.impres.).

she definitely cares more about the album debut than individual songs. she knows by not releasing any prior songs or giving any info on the sound she will get more clicks

So happy for Ariana! Amazing to think that in her early career she would consistently chart near the top of the Hot 100, but never at #1, only to reverse that trend in 2018 with TUN and start an impeccable streak of top 2 hits, including 9 #1s!
She has clearly become a streaming powerhouse and if she plays her cards right, she will remain so for the rest of the decade. Between the near-guaranteed lead single #1s for her next couple of albums and some potential collaborations, I can see her amassing over 15 #1s if everything goes right. In any case, her career trajectory has already been so impressive!
As for Billboard (rightfully) disregarding thousands of sales of Teddy's Lose Control, I just want to say that it saddens me that Warner would resort to such tactics for a song that is already such an organic airplay and streaming hit. Risking their own and their artist's reputation over a chart position is so petty. Let's hope this serves as a wake up call for the major labels and such incidents won't be repeated in the future.

If they wanted to "Buy" a #1 they should have bought a Kelly Clarkson feature and promoted it on TV etc. just seems so bizarre for such a major label to play in such tactics ?

Ariana is collecting these #1’s like infinity stones! 9 #1’s in less than 6 years is insane! Reminds me of Katy’s hot streak from 2008-2014

Ariana is collecting these #1’s like infinity stones! 9 #1’s in less than 6 years is insane! Reminds me of Katy’s hot streak from 2008-2014 while we're at it, the time between their first and ninth #1 song: under 5 years
The Beatles 83 weeks = 1.59 years (Help!) The Supremes 133 weeks = 2.54 years (Love Is Here And Now You're Gone) Rihanna 238 weeks = 4.56 years (Only Girl) 5-10 years
Mariah Carey 269 weeks = 5.15 years (Fantasy) Whitney Houston 278 weeks = 5.32 years (All The Man That I Need) Ariana Grande 279 weeks = 5.34 years (we can't be friends) Katy Perry 292 weeks = 5.59 years (Dark Horse) Madonna 315 weeks = 6.03 years (Justify My Love) Bee Gees 409 weeks = 7.83 years (Love You Inside Out) 10-20 years
Taylor Swift 531 weeks = 10.17 years (Anti-Hero) Drake 565 weeks = 10.82 years (Way 2 Sexy) Usher 639 weeks = 12.24 years (OMG) Paul McCartney 640 weeks = 12.26 years (Say Say Say) Janet Jackson 724 weeks = 13.87 years (Doesn't Really Matter) Michael Jackson 797 weeks = 15.27 years (The Way You Make Me Feel) over 20 years
Beyoncé 1077 weeks = 20.64 years (Texas Hold 'Em) Stevie Wonder 1160 weeks = 22.23 years (Part-Time Lover) Elton John 1288 weeks = 24.68 years (Candle In The Wind 1997)

While this is true, I think Ari could get “the boy is mine” to #1 and have her first 3 -#1 album — but it would probably need a remix for that to happen. They’d have to choose carefully … Olivia perhaps? XTina? Unfortunately, her bestie Victoria Monet might not be a big enough name to help. It’d have to be a big name to be able to give it that boost!
