!!!!
been a massive fan of hers for months, I'm genuinely so happy she's getting the breakthrough she deserves (and with one of her best songs yet imo)
Red Wine Supernova also debuted on Spotify today! (#151, 422,241 streams)

Why does this woman have a pig snout?? Very weird. I feel like she is randomly getting a big push, with a Tiny Desk concert and being pushed like this. I might have to try to check her out since she will be at Coachella this year.

This is really catchy!
She gives me massive Marina/Marina and the Diamonds vibes with a splash of Cyndi Lauper.

My friend has been trying to get me into Chappell for months, so I finally checked her out and enjoyed most of her most recent album. However, this one’s got me fully on board with her and I’m SO excited to see it smashing. Hoping she can have a big breakthrough!

I might have to try to check her out since she will be at Coachella this year. I hope you end up seeing her! Her rise is not random at all, she’s been grinding for awhile and has already dealt with a lot of challenges in her career (pretty sure she was working like a normal survival job like last year). I’ve been following her since Pink Pony Club so I am just so esctatic to see her finally breaking through!

Debuts at #64 in the UK! I wasn't sure how to feel about this on my first listen but it's been growing on me throughout the week, I hope it does even better than it's doing now!

Got into her during the album release and had been telling friends every chance I could to listen to her. Some got on board others didn’t. I’m glad this seems to be doing good. She’s a star. I wonder when it’ll get a radio push.

This is really good, fantastic production.
In ways reminds me of Stevie Nicks, Annie Lennox, and 90’s Country.
I could see this being huge, it would be a breath of fresh air to the pop scene.

I absolutely love this song, and will have it in heavy rotation this summer. I hope this manages to smash like it deserves to and raises her star power.

crazy how suddenly she's blowing up (i had never even heard of her until a few months ago) while simultaneously feeling very organic ? assuming momentum doesn't randomly dry up i see no reason why this can't smash and elevate her into a genuine hitmaker !

Why does this woman have a pig snout?? Very weird. I feel like she is randomly getting a big push, with a Tiny Desk concert and being pushed like this. I might have to try to check her out since she will be at Coachella this year. The pig snout is part of the campiness of her aesthetic. Get into the drag of it all!!! Like andrebra pointed out, this isn’t random—although I’m certain her role as opener for Olivia Rodrigo on her GUTS Tour has played a bigger part as well. Chappell made an EP in 2017 that went nowhere, and moved to LA in 2018. From that point, she toured for her EP and also with Declan McKenna. She’s a queer woman, and stated that her move to LA was the first time that she felt could be comfortable with that reality, after being overwhelmed with the love and acceptance LA gave her. By early 2020, she’d begun work with Dan Nigro, and one of the first songs that they worked on together was “Pink Pony Club,” which despite its status as a highlight for her by critics at the time and fans alike, was not profitable enough for Atlantic Records, her label at the time, and they dropped her. She spent the next two years working various jobs, from being a nanny and a barista to a production assistant. For some of that time, she continued to work with Dan, but in early 2021 his focus wound up shifting to Olivia as he worked on Sour, her own debut album. Unable to find another collaborator that she liked, Chappell eventually moved back to her hometown for that year, and was working a run-of-the-mill drive through job, making ends meet like the rest of us. She moved back to LA in March 2022 and earned a publishing deal with Sony, which allowed her the chance to work with Dan again. While they worked together, making a lot of the songs that wound up on her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, she worked a number of normal 9-5 jobs. By September 2023, she’d been announced as Olivia’s opener, and the album had been independently released…and here we are, I think the rest kind of speaks for itself.
