I mean what even needs to be said at this point?

Whatever expectations some may have had for Taylor Swift's newest album, even ones that knew it was goign to be massive, she some how outmatched them. We are not living in a world with Taylor Swift, we are living in her world. And despite some (honestly overly harsh) critical backlash to the project and the daunting two hour runtime of 31 songs, despite the annoyance of certain people here, the public were not faved one bit. There was consistent and organic replayability based on the daily and weekly streams, setting new records constantly. I don't need to reiterate all the records she's broken but all in all, Taylor notched the entire Top 14 to herself, with each song averaging 16,998,636 streams each. With of course the lead single - Fortnight - breaking records for the biggest debut of a song in a day and in a week. It conquered the previous record set by Taylor's protege Olivia Rodrigo in good 4 u by 8 million. She set the record for the biggest album bomb of all time, whether or not you just look at the first half of The Tortured Poets Department.

The amount of power Taylor had pushed Too Sweet all the way from #1 to #15. Although it would've likely been it's final week on top anyway given it's peaked in streaming, dropping by 19.56%. What would've poised to take the top spot had Taylor not dropped coincidentally is one of Taylor's opening acts. Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso just rose and rose throughout the week both in the U.S. and around the world, it was up 39.41%. Make no mistake, this will be a huge summer hit the only question is will it have enough gas to stay atop once Fortnight starts flinching. Caught in between however is a song I would've expected to do better: Drake's diss towards Kendrick Lamar 'Push Ups'. Maybe it was the delayed release as it was dropped at 12 noon, maybe it was the fact it was leaked days prior, maybe it was just Taylor Swift overwhelming discussion, or maybe it's a combination of all three, but it debuts at with 13.4M. But another song that's looking to be an early smas hit leading into summer, Shaboozey's A Bar Song (Tipsy) which rocketed up in streaming by a mammoth 133.92% to 11.5M almost tripling what it did last week. It almost makes me wonder if this will somehow be a bigger hit than anything from COWBOY CARTER which Shaboozey was on. And another song caught in between all of the Taylor news was Good Luck, Babe! which rose a respectable 32.86%.

In other news, none of the debuts from last week were able to stabilize without Taylor's album bomb. Ken Carson's overseas fell by 33.35%, Dua Lipa continues to underperform with Illusion dropping by 24.47%, and We Still Don't Trust You decreasing by 44.97%. Elsewhere we saw Us Vs. Them by the $uicideboy$ get a huge gain as they dropped another single (honestly impressed they managed to stay in the Top 100, their songs typically fall off so kudos for them finally having longevity), and Tell Ur Girlfriend and Feel It continue their momentum upwards.
