Katy shared a clip of this on her Instagram story with scenes of Kamala dancing. I can’t see Dems picking this up with the Dr Luke credit, but it might help this a bit. Still, this is going nowhere, time to move on before radio embarrassingly collapses
By the way, wavey, I tried to mix this with Elton John and Britney Spears’ Hold Me Closer, but sadly Woman’s World chord progression is very strange so I couldn’t get it on key. I made these a few weeks ago, though, if you’re interested :)

I absolutely could see this being Kamala Harris theme song or at least an unofficial one, but they won't touch it with him on it :( lol It’s really quite unfortunate, because that chorus would be so poignant if she won the nomination and election. It sucks in general that he’s on this song (on this album at all, let’s get real) because it’s honestly super catchy and I really do think it would’ve brought Katy back to the top without him. Oh, well. At least “Lifetimes” is coming. I heard the snippet because I couldn’t help it, and I’m hoping that’s 1) coming very soon and 2) able to salvage this era as much as possible. |

We don't need this within a mile of Kamala. We need her to win and she already has so much to overcome without attaching this bomb to her ankle! I think Katy wishes since she’s been reposting it. It’s still Top 160 on iTunes so I don’t think it got a “Kamala” boost so far. Current events usually impact the iTunes chart. I think this will be Top 15 on radio perhaps like someone else said. I’m not sure how much they can push this without organic demand. |

I think it's already managed to go further than 'J Christ' tbh, it's gotten a higher spin count than I believe that one got, and as long as it finishes the week at #22 at worst, it'll get a top 20 peak after Ari/SZA go recurrent (that is - presuming radio doesn't completely screw Billie with 'Lunch' and dropkick it in favour of keeping Ari in the top 10).
EDIT: I just checked back; 'J Christ' peaked at #21, so this current has matched its peak position-wise. Spins-wise though, this definitely has LNX beat, and like I said above this can still achieve a higher peak this week if circumstances play out favourably.

Honestly, that chart position is the best we could’ve hoped for after this past week.
I hate to say this, but this song is already burning on me. It’s burning faster on me than any other Katy single. I’m ready to move into single #2. Give me Nirvana, Lifetimes, or Gimme Gimme
