The instrumental sounds so smooth! The difference between it and the demo/AI is huge. Her vocals also sound a million times better. She sounded robotic on whatever the leak was. I am so excited!!

I'm confused as to why she's releasing this on a Thursday though. Even if it's at 7 PM, why not wait until Friday at midnight and not lose these precious first hours of streaming? Am I missing something here?

Am I missing something here? Yes. On Thursday at 7pm, she gets out ahead of all the other Friday at midnight releases, thereby not risking getting lost in the shuffle. I’m assuming they aren’t shooting for or expecting a Hot 100 #1 debut, so there isn’t really a need to release at the very start of the tracking period just to get as mant streams as possible in there. |

well it used to be (if it was released immediately on iTunes) that an early start would give the song a higher position to start out at on Friday morning when New Music Friday would come out. If it was already in the Top 10, it would theoretically get even more sales than if it was at the bottom of the chart because of the exposure.

I don't get Chromatica vibes (especially from the video), although I do think the songs sounds like a mix of We Are Family, Stupid Love and Blinding Lights

Not hearing Blinding Lights at all. That song had a lot more oomph and tempo to it. Definitely getting the Chromatica vibes though. Still can't get over how hot that single cover is. Why it was not the album cover is even a greater mystery to me than her working with [redacted].
