Going for immediate airplay doesn't mean radio is automatically onboard. I'm sure her label made and effort to get it good play on it'$ fir$t week as it usually happens for big names, but it's been a decade since radio stanned and that doesn't fix itself magically in a week. We'll see.

I think today around 7pm ET, kinda like the time Adele and other UK-centric acts do so they can get a full week over there but sacrifices a few hours of tracking stateside.

Considering the best bet for success for Katy isn't a #1 debut but a solid performance that grows through word of mouth it's a good choice.

A radio deal will usually get a song at least to the ~top 15 region so I imagine this will at least make it that far (if it has one). From there will depend on streaming and callouts.

(I know radio deals are technically for "one day" but they almost always continue to get huge updates for the first week or more after that, just to a lesser degree).

Not a fan of the video, it's a mess. I'm not too sure what was the actual point of anything. The song, while really good, doesn't feel comeback worthy. Surely this can't be a strongest thing on the album. I'll still be streaming this non stop for a while!

Also, she doesn't need a bridge to make a good song (see Teenage Dream), but this song badly needed one

So... after listening to the song twice (via the video) this feels undercooked. And we essentially had the entire song from the various snippets (like... short of the intro and some of the vocal layering you could just about frankenstein the full thing from all the clips and maybe a little bit of AI to fill in the gaps). Plus this absolutely needed a bridge, it's too short.

That was better than I expected. I’m still a bit more hyped for ‘Nirvana’ and ‘Gimme Gimme’ over this but ‘Woman’s World’ should hold me over until the album.

The video is ok. It’s a cute inoffensive video and very Katy.

I can see why they picked it for a lead. While it’s not her strongest, it’s sorta anthemic like Roar. That was definitely not the best song on Prism but made sense why it was the lead.

Edit: I agree with the sentiment that she could’ve used a bridge for this song.

I don’t like the song (but I already knew I wouldn’t from the snippets) but I actually quite like the video. The production is good but the melodies are not strong at all.

The video didn't have much of a story/point at all. Very "quirky-kooky" Katy as always, which is good if you find that humorous. The song itself, I still don't love and it needed a fire bridge. It's fine, but not going to bring her back to where she wants to be. I'm sure the album has better though, still they should have led with the strongest IMO. I feel like the clips I heard save one were better.

The snippets were underwhelming but I had my hopes up that the full song would be something. Definitely beneath her level, the video is a mess too.

these lyrics are so trite and meaningless. I know it's silly to assume masterful writing from katy, but at least stuff from her witness era (havent listened to smile) had some interesting concepts. There's nothing here except "women good". Anyone could write this, but it feels especially gross from her since she has now platformed 3 people who have horrible records with supporting women.

It pains me to say I like the production.

The video is a mess. Not "Swish Swish" levels of awful thankfully. Just a bunch of random scenes without an ounce of charm in sight.

The song is a passable bop. The missing bridge or lack of even a great outro really deflates it, but the chorus definitely works. Can't believe she went back to Doctor Luke and risked the controversy for something so basic, lol. Literally any producer could have done this.
