Of course I will! I’m a huge Katy Perry fan, I love her work. I was super, super excited for this song. I’m super sad it’s a trash song! To help me overcome that, I’m going to discuss it on a discussion board :) Here’s hoping Nirvana is as good as it sounded in the snippet

I actually ended up liking this more than I thought I would based on comments I've seen online. It's not amazing by any means but it's serviceable, at least to me. The Dr. Luke thing is eyebrow-raising, but even putting that aside I don't think the song is strong enough to be the smash that Katy's team might be looking for. It's catchy but it's also faceless unlike Katy's songs were in her peak, her songs always had a fun charm to it.

I haven't listened to any snippets of other songs but I'll remain hopeful for other songs on the album.

The talking bit at the end was definitely unneeded and reminded me of "This Is How We Do" which is one the worst songs on Prism.

This song is just so off the mark in every way possible, sadly.

An empowerment anthem for women should do great but this is dated. As others said, see what Sabrina, Charli and Chappell are doing. But even take that aside, it’s a song about the strength of women and yet it’s been written and produced by 4 men. Yes, there is one female co-writer on it but it just feels like they don’t grasp the concept of what this needed to be in 2024. Were no additional female writers / producers available in Hollywood?

It’s just totally off the mark. Additionally, yes, it needed a bridge. Desperately. The lyrics are so generic this could have been done in ChatGPT.

On a kind note, she looks incredible.

Talking parts in most songs are cringe-y af. I am not a fan when artists do that, including Katy.

This song isn’t as bad as most people are making it out to be. It’s at least a better lead single than Daisies imo.

Yeah, I have to agree. Other than ‘Chained To The Rhythm’, her lead singles are never the best or even second best song on the album.

Are we sure this isn’t a parody? ‘It’s a WW and you’re living in it’ huh? Who’s living in it? Unintended consequence: watch this get adopted by the radical feminists/anti-trans athletes as a ‘female empowerment’ theme.

Katy’s success was built on ‘fun’ pop gems with unbelievable addictive hooks. Even if you ignore the lyrics, thus comes across as more angry than fun.

I don’t know if even the WNBA/USWNT would license it for promo.

Hopefully, the album contains a few pop nuggets. If WW becomes a hit, I’ll be happy for KP.

I think this is a stupid song to come back with. I mean, who is Katy's biggest audience? I would say it's the gays. Soccer moms may come 2nd, but they don't buy or promote things like the gays. "It's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it"? hmmm... I don't think this will catch on at all. She better have that 2nd single ready. If she came with something like Walking On Air she'd be in a better place.

NGL, this just gets worse the more I'm exposed to it. Makes me so sour that songs like "Never Really Over," "HIH," "365" weren't given their shot. All she had to do was deliver a great pop song along those lines. Instead we got this. The entire package is a miscalculation. The messaging (has she not looked at the world around her recently?). The nonsensical video. The tone deaf collaborators. The misfired aim to recapture her glory days. Give us something personal or give us something escapist, this fails at both.

Ehhh. I really wanted to like this, but I agree with others that it feels too generic. I usually don't mind the TikTok-ready trend and think it can be done well, but the song feels incomplete. I don't find it bad though, just rather unmemorable, especially for a lead single.
