I think Taylor will let Billie have one week and then ship the variants I think she should ship them. I mean Billie trashed variants, and went ahead and made like 10 herself. Taylor should ship them. It would be funny. I'm just proving a point not trying to make a fan war. |

I mean, it has 31 tracks after all vs Midnights' 19-20. Cowboy Carter is doing less than half of Eternal Sunshine's streaming numbers despite double the number of tracks and a bigger debut. Can you explain the math on this? Because looking at the past 3 weeks, CC has been above ES in overall consumption despite similar pure sales. |

^For the sake of reference, HITS' for the US albums YTD has CC at 984k SPS vs. ES at 719k SPS, while Mediatraffic has for WW albums YTD, CC at 1.079M SPS vs. ES at 1.052M SPS. On the latter, ES had 10k more weekly SPS than CC last week.

She's a billionaire and there are ZERO ethical billionaires. I think most people already know this about Taylor and they know she exploits her fans, but to me, no one has to purchase anything they don't want to and they're not "owed" anything for free. Artists are business first and foremost. I simply don't participate in the whole charade, but a million variants are the new practice most artists are going to adapt to. Love it or hate it. Fans will eventually vote with their indifference to these releases. IDC who comes out on top this week, just found it humorous that Taylor is applying the very same strategy Billie condemned her for to try and dominate her first week. She likely felt unnecessarily slighted. We know Taylor is one petty b***h when it comes to the smallest of things so of course she is. lol This is the same woman who released her entire back catalog to Spotify the day Witness came out to thwart Katy Perry's release at the time. |

Honestly by the way the Taylor Nation comments under the post announcing the new versions are going, the variant game might not be doable long term if they keep expecting stans to buy 10 versions.
If you do all the more power to you, but demand better than a voice memo π€£ back in the 1989 days those were on the regular deluxe edition since day one.

Swifties have been complaining to taylornation for years and it hasn't had an effect yet. At the same time, pre order vinyl variants are basically the only ones that have a big effect . Digital variants do little . People are overhyping the effect of this . just like the cds for fortnight did not end up blocking sabrina in the uk. this is just a little promo that will likely do only a few thousand units. Lastly, variants work not due to the weirdos that buy every single ones but by making it more attractive for a fan to buy one or two copies. |

Honestly, I'm not sure that Billie would get #1 even without the Taylor voice memos. The album doesn't have a ton of hype and it's only 10 tracks.

Swifties(and taylor herself) generally like to shade or hate on any other women that are successful, it feels like. Look how quickly they switched on Olivia Rodrigo once she started doing crazy numbers. I think the hype is growing with this Billie record. Its very tight and only 10 pretty diverse tracks as opposed to other albums. Should be interesting when more reviews come in but its killing it on the critics side. |
