I wanted to love this given the Britney sample, but ever time I've listened thus far, I just come away wanting to play the OG "Lucky" by Britney instead. This just lacks a punch and feels really limp. Definitely not a lead single type of song, as others have already said.

What is Columbia doing? There’s no reason this shouldn’t get pushed to Pop, especially since it had such a strong start on its own.

I like some Halsey songs but this is sooo undercooked, it lacks everything and sorry, Britney's Lucky is lame af. yeah, “Lucky” is possibly Britney’s worst major single from her early days. Also, maybe it isn’t connecting with the public because there has been a very recent criticism of vapid celebrities with massive amounts of wealth and crying about how hard it is to be famous and rich, just isn’t a fantasy for most people listening to radio right now. Kids eat that crap up…but broke people in their thirties. |

What is Columbia doing? There’s no reason this shouldn’t get pushed to Pop, especially since it had such a strong start on its own. Strong start? It did 6 million streams its first week. It was limp on arrival and it’s a costly single with 2 big samples and A LOT of PR. It also costs a lot of money to send a song to radio…if it’s not gonna help move the album, save the budget for something with more hit potential and GP interest. |
