Tbh, given Lifetimes and I'm His He's Mine failed to reach the top 200 on US Spotify, I can't see anything taking off. I'm His He's Mine got 1m streams, which wasn't even enough for the Top 200 on Global Spotify.. How many points would be needed to reach the top 100 on the Billboard 200? You mean the album chart? I'd guess she can still command enough of stanbase to sell enough physicals for a top 20 peak but this is 99% surely going to be her worst opening yet and considering Smile was already an ugly number... I mean, if Paris Hilton can move 16-17k units, I think 40k won't be a problem for Katy (which would be around #7 this week), Smile had 14k with SEA alone (50k overall) and without hits. But we'll see, atp, I wouldn't be surprised with 50k nor 25k. |

I like this.
It’s pretty catchy due to the sample mostly and Doechii I suppose.
I’m looking forward to this project because I’ve liked everything she has released so far or previewed from it.
I wasn’t really expecting her to smash even before “Woman’s World” came out so I’m just here for the music.
I’m not a huge fan of hers, but I do enjoy a lot of her music.
I hope something will stick…

Idgaf this is my mf JAM. It played at the bar and I missed it but wjr15 caught it!!!! Said the floor was very receptive!! Yeah the dance floor crowd seemed to enjoy this one but I will say, I think a lot of it had to do with the sample which people really got into. But it sounds great at the bar. |

I have no idea what their algorithm of "trending" takes into consideration, but that's at least something.

Would it kill Luke to add dynamics to his production on this album?? Is he trying to sabotage Katy?? When Woman's World dropped, I thought THAT song sounded hollow, but everything after it has sounded more and more like a demo instead of a fully fleshed out song. That said, this is still the best of the three released so far, which strangely gives me hope for the rest of the album, since she is trending upward ever so slightly. Doechii makes the song though, definitely.

Listened to the song, and it's not for me. There are parts of the song where I feel like the pacing is off and should be faster than it is. Certain parts of the song almost feels like I'm listening to the slowed-down version of a song that artists release. Just like the other two songs, this song feels not fully fleshed out.
Also, I disagree with others that say this should have been the lead single. Is it arguably better than the other two? Sure, and if it was between those three, there might be an argument there for it to be the lead single, but quite frankly, none of them are good choices for various reasons.
In the case of this song, it's because Doechii was the clear standout of this song and it basically felt like it was Doechii featuring Katy Perry. The point of the lead single is create buzz and get people excited by the artist and the upcoming album. This song made we want to check Doechii's other work, not excite me about Katy's new album.

Here we go - probably the best pop this year and last 5 years - this is total pop heaven and they improved the original sample really well. Might be the best song Katy Perry ever released! The big BUT is - whether radio wants to play good songs or this needs a massive promotion, BUT this song has to go massive!

I guess it makes sense to not get the single if you're planning on getting the album (do they even do complete my album anymore?). As for not streaming... girl even Youtube helps. |
