Taylor Swift's THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (Republic) remains at #1, while Streamcut/RCA’s Latto is projected to debut in the Top 20 with Sugar Honey Iced Tea.
Now, if you don’t mind, it’s time to celebrate National Prosecco Day.

Wow, Chappell really really close to #1 there. It's just about a matter of time with the stars aligning correctly that she can bob to the top, but it might happen sooner than later!

It will be a beautiful headline when Chappell replaces Taylor at #1. Already an album artist on her debut era 👏

Next week, Post will release his album which ought to debut at #1. Not sure if Sabrina would manage to prevent Chappell from getting #1 the week after. The week after that, there isn't an announced new album that would challenge her. Of course, Taylor can release new or re-release already released TTPD versions in any given week to be #1 then. Chappell will continue to have a chance at #1 if it can grow in streaming so that it outstreams OTAAT.

At this point, Chappell should wait to strike around when the VMAs are happening. Her performance could generate some buzz and give the album the boost it needs to go number 1.

Good Luck Babe doesn’t count for Chappell’s album right? I don’t understand why they didn’t tack it on as a bonus track. Seems like a no brainer to boost the album.

I know Chappell is the breakout here but it's crazy to me that Charli is in the top 5. DELICIOUS.

Seems like a no brainer to boost the album. maybe she doesn't feel it'd be an artistically credible decision. not the same situation as it was years later, but some Taylor fans really wanted her to tack on all of the girls you loved before (and need) to lover, to get a higher position.

No, Good Luck Babe wouldn't count unless it were on the album. My guess is that they originally intended for the song to launch a new era, and that they possibly have a second album already ready, but that given the unexpected resurgence of 'Midwest Princess,' they were debating what to do for a while, go with the original plan and use 'Babe' to launch a second album, or delay that for a while and juice the first album, possibly with eventually tacking on 'Babe' to it. With the way the first album is only continuing to get bigger and bigger, it seems obvious they would be leaning towards the latter option now.

GLB will be on a new album that she's been working on for a while. They might change the plan due to the growing success of Midwest Princess, but Dan Nigro recently confirmed that it's still going to be on CP2.

That is brilliant career move to be able to almost have another era ready when the previous era is now getting massive attention and they have time to sit on it and really properly craft the next move.

It is sad because Latto's CD was actually kinda decent to me. Way better than Ice Spice for sure LOL

These new rap girls cannot sell shit. 26k is not bad at all when rap girlies below Top 5 would be lucky to get 10K. JT outsold her group. Glorilla with less projects than most passed 30k. We are just in the rap girl boom. With more crossover hits I can see 50k or higher for them in the future like Nicki, Meg and Doja.

All of them are selling poorly in the 20-30k range. They’re all in the same boat, minus Doja & Megan which are only slightly selling better. But still disappointing when you factor in Doja’s massive hits and Megan’s popularity. If they were going to sell, that would’ve happened already. The “rap girl boom” is a facade. The internet has made it appear dominant just because so many of them are visible now thanks to social media. The social media hype has not translated yet for any of them. And with hiphop not being the dominate genre anymore, I don’t see that changing.

I heard Megan is gonna release a deluxe of her album with a very special feature, wonder if that is still true.

Mainstream rap is cooked and y'all will see that by the end of next year when a whole new slew of rap albums flop/underperform. The initial streaming boom, which favoured rap heavily, is now over. I expect rap to be overtaken as the most consumed genre in the US by next year.

Great seeing Chappell doing well, and for a newer artist, 11,000 in physical sales is great. I will be happy if she gets to #1!

She usually only blocks people she has beef with.

I don't think she has had any interaction really with Zach Bryan or Morgan wallen etc Like when sos blocked midnights 8 times, was it because sza hates Taylor? Probably not

There must be a lot of fan overlap between her and Chappell. Not so sure many fans are itching to support Taylor this time. For someone who already has 83 weeks on top and 14 with this album, taking it away with another completely manufactured week from someone who has none yet, and another female at that who is rising completely organically. It's kind of mind-boggling and twisted how someone would root for that, especially admitting to liking both artists.

Good Luck Babe doesn’t count for Chappell’s album right? I don’t understand why they didn’t tack it on as a bonus track. Seems like a no brainer to boost the album. Because it’s probably for her next project. Midwest Princess is comprised of songs recorded and released from 2019-2023 and GLB doesn’t fit aesthetically. Also tacking random singles onto old albums to boost streaming (aka pulling a Dua) is sort of embarrassing, Chappell seems to be about art before the charts.

I mean, I don’t see how it’s embarrassing? She is blowing up and GLB has been out for months without any new album being announced. As far as the public is concerned, it’s part of the same package as her album in terms of being one of many songs of hers blowing up simultaneously. If I were her I’d be saying, “hey GLB is part of this amazing wave of interest, let’s plan a different new song to be the start of the next era so it feels like a true next chapter.” But maybe that’s the chart nerd in me just wishing she could capitalize more on this moment to land a #1 album.
