not really myself these days, I was thinking of something different and completely missed the point - my point was the fact that album chart is now more kinder to singles artists, than 15 years ago. Yes, Sabrina's debut is more impressive, definitely, I just wish there's a universe where I could see the TD debut numbers in SPS era with California Gurls, Teenage Dream and Firework smashing (almost) at the same time, just like Sabrina's trio of hits.

I doubt Katy would’ve had 8 songs top 13 on Apple Music simultaneously first week if Teenage Dream had happened in a streaming era lol.

Sabrina’s album just resonated more than Teenage Dream’s did first week period.

Teenage Dream would’ve probably been like Future Nostalgia in a streaming era. Katy never had a true fanbase or had people drawn to her artistry.

It seems he may be using the same tactics he did to block Nicki a few years back. Really hoping the disgraced deadly riot inciting rapper does not spoil Sabrina's moment.

It's a 10 year old mixtape doing over 200k. That is incredibly rare and impressive. And yes, Post Malone is back. Not quite as big as he was in the late 2010's but he just sold in his 2nd week what his last 2 albums did in their 1st. He's in a good spot for sure.

I feel like a decent rule that Billboard could implement for the version-spamming tactics would be versions with new tracklists cannot be released mid-week. Like they have to have been available on midnight Friday when the week started or they would simply not begin to count for tracking until the next midnight Friday for the following chart week.

This would also be helpful to consumers as the most frustrating thing is labels/artists doing these new versions with more music *extremely shortly after* their fans have already purchased a version.

It would largely halt these instances of inflating numbers last minute and it would help the fans from being screwed over first week as any deluxe/special editions would’ve had to been an option from the beginning when they made the first purchase.

It's funny because it's just so fake. She obviously learned it from Taylor. If it was an actual 'thank you' it would be free, or at least available for sale on its own and not as part of an album you have to re-buy in full to get the thank you lmao. Imagine doing something for a friend and they tell you "I got you this thank you gift but you owe me $5 for it."

My main frustration with all of this has always been how it all ultimately cheats the fans. Hopefully Sabrina and Travis just do this for the debut week, but even then all of this certainly feels like too much. And yeah, Sabrina would move to #1 next chart regardless.
