I wonder what the plan is for the rest of the campaign. I don't know how the numbers compare to Perfect Illusion but since this didn't even get the amount of hate that one got, seems like there's way less chatter about this. I don't think they drop the album without trying at least one more single next year.

Apparently the next single is coming ahead of the album, so it’ll probably drop sometimes in January or early February with the album out before the end of the month. Hopefully it's something catchy and upbeat because this song is definitely not it, and Disease is honestly the worst song in her entire discography. |

Hopefully it's something catchy and upbeat because this song is definitely not it, and Disease is honestly the worst song in her entire discography. How Jewels N Drugs ever made it as a final cut on the album will forever haunt me lol I will always mourn the Artpop that could have been if she would have just been a little less messy that era. Throw JND and Manicure in the garbage, relegate MJH and Donatella to a deluxe edition, get an R&B capable guy who didn’t already have a creepy history of accusations on the lyrics of DWUW (*ahem* The Weeknd), and for the love - complete a studio version of I Wanna Be With You, rather than turning one of her prettiest melodies into whatever Dope is. Do all of that, and it would have probably gotten raves and maybe even be considered her best. |

I think her vocal performance elevates this a lot. Unlike PI, where her bad vocals just further emphasized how bad of a song it is. In someone else’s hands who wouldn’t have put much personality in it, I think this song could have been pretty bad. But Gaga does the most to elevate it here. The song itself is like a Bad Kids for me. It’s not something I dislike, but do I skip it on the vast majority of BTW re-visits? Yes, absolutely.

this is a good song, but it's a terrible single. Those are two different things. I don't see how one can say this is such a great single choice when it pretty much has a net negative effect on her album rollout so far. Her fanbase will always show up, but this hasn't gained any new fans. The statistics show that. But it's a good album track.
