I'm definitely in the minority here, but I'm not all that wowed by this. As a couple of others have mentioned, it feels a little jarring and I'm just not a huge fan of the production. I don't hate it, but it's not quite what I was looking for.
Also, this appears to have an hourly radio deal on iHeart stations today (based on my station and checking most of the big stations' playlists), so this will likely have a huge debut on Pop tomorrow.

It's unfortunate that this had to come out in the middle of the embarrassing mess that is Joker 2. I hope the song is going to launch her new album nicely though! I think everyone has forgotten about Joker 2 by now (granted, I haven’t been paying too much attention). I think Die With A Smile would have been affected otherwise If she didn't drop an entire new album for the movie...

I will say I don’t see this posing any threat to DWAS potentially going #1 on CHR though. Taste will be the only real threat there

Wasn’t expecting this type of production at all. It’s jarring, but I like it. Would expect to hear this at some Halloween parties next week.

Yeah, I feel like there’s a high chance this first week is far and away the best week this song will have. It’s very Halloween-ish and the video looks primed to add to that. On the flip side, all that could add up to a truly nasty drop off for it post debut tho

Ok, now that I poo poo’d on any TFM comps, I am kinda sorta getting a Teeth vibe from this after all lol. More so than anything from BTW at least.

I really like this. Especially repeat listening. I don’t know why and I’m probably way off but this reminds me of 80’s rock Heart.

80s Heart is epic!
I’d be more upset is this wasn’t jarring or zany. And not in response to anyone here, but my biggest pet peeve when it comes to criticisms of Gaga is when people say a song is too “out there” or “weird” or “unpredictable” or whatever. As if they want her to make a more conventional sounding pop song so she can score an easy pop hit or be more like the other pop girls. It’s like, we have others who make fun pop hits and they do it well. Why does someone who fills a void for weird have to pull back to be ‘normal’ too? I know her attempts for being weird don’t always succeed, but I appreciate that she does it. It keeps her interesting.

And I’d rather her be wild and crazy and interesting instead of outright boring, flat and predictable.

The song is getting a good number of spins on a large number of stations today, probably 1200+ spins today.

idk, Gaga is one of the few artists I can almost always count on to deliver the catchy and big chorus, but this didn't do much for me, it's fine - better than Stupid Love for sure.

I am so HERE for this sound from her. I honestly didn’t realize how much I missed it. This is on repeat for me. It’s DARK and CATCHY. I would honestly be shocked if it wasn’t a smash.

Really like this on first listen. It’s got a lot of personality and a whole vibe to it…excited to see the inevitable unhinged visual that will no doubt elevate it even further.

I’m kinda wishing this was an alternate timeline where this song was on Chromatica and Replay is what she was releasing rn, cause I think that could be a smash as a new song in 2024 if she wanted to do dark pop.

It’s grown on me immensely, but the pre-chorus and verses could still be better.

This is a 2024 version of Perfect Illusion to me… 😬
A few listens later and it’s just not it for me.

Not bad, and I agree that being unpredictable and crazy is a good thing, despite what I said earlier. I just think it's a hard sell to the general public, especially for the lead.

Now AI wrote this? Chile... Nobody thinks actual AI wrote this (I'm sure everyone ITT, even if they dont like this song, respects gaga as an artist enough to not believe that). But when you give AI a "write lyrics about x" prompt, it tends to be very one-note and repetitive, which this song fits into more than the rest of her discography. That was the point.

I am a casual fan, so not affected by the fanbase claiming as they should this is amazing. It is...not. It does not sound like a global hit and you could have Kim Petras sing this anyday. I was 300% invested in liking it and I am sure it will take a couple weeks for some to understand I am not hating - but I will be shocked if this does anything other than a few cute Top 20s and 30s.
I also do not think releasing a song called Disease after Joker 2 and Harlequin failed to meet expectations (to say the least) is a good idea. The GP will hear a dark, solo song by the woman on the failed Joker movie and it does not sound revolutionary enough to break away from what is happening.
I would guess a Spotify debut at around 3,5 to 4M, with the first week being the best, and then the Freeze cementing this as something like Perfect Illusion - or worse - chart-wise.

This is Judas all over again, but the screaming is bad - who wants to hear her doing this in the middle of sunny pop radio day???

Judas, lol this song wishes. Let’s not get carried away and pretend this can hold a candle to the immaculate electro-pop production of that.
