well if I say "it didn't go top 3 in streaming," you can say "blah shut up about stats, have fun!!!" but also "shut up you don't have a point!!!"
so I guess we can just close this circle.

hmm, that is a song that didn't feel like a number one. I still stand by my original point. and why would it be, it's not a song by Taylor or Sabrina, or someone else that Taylor likes. You didn't even have a point to begin with, but good for you. Thank you for your service.

One interesting thing I just noticed is that in addition to 6 weeks at #1, I Had Some Help has also spent an incredible 12 weeks at #2! Is this the record for the longest stay at position #2, regardless of whether it peaked there?

so fvckin TALENTED.. the song is sadly not connecting to the GP.. too RAW, haunting, dark & deep for them mefears I think it’s more likely that DWAS is stealing all its thunder. It’s a monster smash. This is my concern about the LG7 lead dropping in mere days, as I’ve mentioned.

^ Yeah, they should just call DWAS the LG7 lead, put it on the album, and release another solo single before the album comes out. As I've said before, it's much less likely she'll strike lightning twice at this stage in her career.

Bruno might not agree with that plan though. Maybe it’s lead of his new album?

^ Exactly, make it for both. There's not too many examples of a duet being a lead for both artists' new albums, but back in the 90s, When You Believe was the lead for both Whitney's My Love Is Your Love and Mariah's #1's, and The Boy Is Mine was the lead for both Monica's same-titled album and Brandy's Never Say Never.

I have hope that Gaga cooked and she has a good lead coming. She doesn't need DWAS on thr album.

It's unfortunate how BOAF is not hitting the H100 No.1 but I'm glad it's no.2
No.2 is better than No.3 any day, no.2 is just annoying if teh difference is like less than 10points or if the song was no.2 for 5weeks or more

I also dislike the song and think taste is much better. but i can't think of an example of a song that's #1 in sales/airplay and peaks outside the streaming top 3 anyway. About Damn Time? #8 on streaming, #1 on airplay and sales. About Damn Time definitely felt like a no.1, twas inescapable at one point so I'm surprised it just peaked at no.8 on streaming?

Also makes me think of "Good Time" being on both Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen's albums in 2012.
To be honest though, I don't like the practice in general. Makes it hard to attribute the song to one album, I usually just lean it towards whichever album came first, if not which fits better.

I don’t want DWAS on LG7 because “dark electro pop” sounds like it would stick out like a sore thumb and make no sense on the album. I just want her to let DWAS play out the rest of the year, LG7 lead January.

And we've got a new number and one The Weeknd really needed after his last couple of singles didn't light the world on fire. And while it didn't have the longevity and stability it has on Apple Music, Timeless was sitll #1 with 16.2M. Now it won't be #1 for long as Die With A Smile was only down 3.31%. What's more likely however is Taste doing back to #1 as it was down a miniscule 2.01%. In fact I think Sabrina's longevity needs to be applauded because Short n' Sweet was only down 0.21! It nearly had the same amount of streams as last week which for an album on its SIXTH week of release is insane.
Future didn't have a good week as his mixtape had terrible longevity; TEFLON DON crashed and lost almost half of its streams - 49.4% to be exact - and LIL DEMON didn't fare much better with a 38.84% drop. Alex Warren's breakout song Burning Down was also down 13.39% while Dancing in the Flames continues its floundering with a 20.38% drop in its third week. And September expectedly took a tumble of 27.88%. It's ok I'm ok also continues showing inconsistent longevity with a 19.42% decrease. Ditto goes for ALL RED which fell again this time by 24.37%.
Outside of Timeless, we didn't have many other big debuts this week. The only other notable one is Linkin Park's excellent second single - Heavy is the Crown - debuting with 3M streams although it likely would've been more if it didn't debut on a Wednesday.
Notable Gains: we fell in love in october - 27.59% Juno - 18.20% DOS DÍAS - 14.77% Diet Pepsi - 14.28% Snooze - 12.65%

Eilish earns her highest rank since 2020, while The Weeknd scores his top career entrance.
Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” adds a 13th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song, which became the singer-songwriter’s first leader in July, extends 2024’s longest reign. It also now boasts outright the third-longest command this decade.
The track additionally furthers the longest No. 1 run of 2024 on the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart, adding a 17th week in the top spot.
Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” bounds four spots to No. 2 on the Hot 100, achieving a new high, and marking her top rank since 2020, following the release of its official video. Plus, The Weeknd and Playboi Carti’s “Timeless” soars onto the Hot 100 at No. 3. With the song, which starts as the week’s most-streamed title, The Weekend earns his 19th top 10, and highest career debut, and Playboi Carti notches his fifth top 10. The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated Oct. 12, 2024) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, Oct. 8). For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram. Luminate, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes a thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling the weekly chart rankings. Luminate reviews and authenticates data. In partnership with Billboard, data deemed suspicious or unverifiable is removed, using established criteria, before final chart calculations are made and published.
‘Tipsy’ Airplay, Streams & Sales
“A Bar Song (Tipsy),” on American Dogwood/EMPIRE (with country radio promotion by Magnolia Music), totaled 76.2 million radio airplay audience impressions (down 3%), 26.7 million official streams (down 4%) and 8,000 sold (down 4%) in the United States Sept. 27-Oct. 3.
The track posts a 10th week at No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart; drops to No. 2 after seven weeks at No. 1 on Streaming Songs; and keeps at No. 2 following 13 weeks at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales.
Making its latest mark on radio, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is the first of seven songs that have topped the Country Airplay and all-format Radio Songs charts to lead the latter for at least 10 weeks (dating to the lists’ 1990 inceptions, and the latter’s 1998 expansion to include country panelists, among other format reporters). Below is a recap of their reigns, with all seven songs having achieved both country and pop/adult crossover radio prominence; notably, three of the four longest such Radio Songs dominations have occurred in just over the past year.
Radio Songs No. 1s That Have Also Topped Country Airplay:
“A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey, 10 weeks at No. 1 to date on Radio Songs, 2024 “I Had Some Help,” Post Malone feat. Morgan Wallen, five, 2024 “Meant To Be,” Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line, five, 2018 “Fast Car,” Luke Combs, four, 2023 “Need You Now,” Lady A, two, 2010 “You Belong With Me,” Taylor Swift, two, 2009 “I Hope,” Gabby Barrett feat. Charlie Puth (Barrett was solely credited on Country Airplay; Puth joined for its pop remix), one week, 2020
Most Weeks at No. 1 on Hot 100 in 2024
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” extends the longest stay at No. 1 on the Hot 100 this year, as it more than doubles up on its closest competitor. Here’s a look at the songs that have led for multiple weeks since January:
13 weeks, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey, beginning July 13 6, “I Had Some Help,” Post Malone feat. Morgan Wallen, beginning May 25 5, “Lovin On Me,” Jack Harlow (*6 total weeks at No. 1, beginning Dec. 2, 2023) 3, “Like That,” Future, Metro Boomin & Kendrick Lamar, beginning April 6 2, “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar, beginning May 18 2, “Fortnight,” Taylor Swift feat. Post Malone, beginning May 4 2, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Beyoncé, beginning March 2
Hits With the Most Weeks at No. 1 This Decade
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” now solely has the third-most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the 2020s. Here’s a recap:
16 weeks, “Last Night,” Morgan Wallen, 2023 15, “As It Was,” Harry Styles, 2022 13 (to date), “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey, 2024 12, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Mariah Carey, 2020-23 (*14 total weeks at No. 1, including its first two on charts dated in December 2019) 11, “The Box,” Roddy Ricch, 2020 10, “Easy on Me,” Adele, 2021 10, “Butter,” BTS, 2021
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is now one of only 16 No. 1s in the Hot 100’s history to amass 13 or more weeks on top – an honor that a mere 1.4% of all No. 1s have achieved. All 16 hits have led since the chart adopted electronically-monitored Luminate data in November 1991, at which point longer reigns than before subsequently became more common; since then, 3.9% of all No. 1s have led for 13 or more weeks.
‘Feather’ Flies to No. 2
Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” ascends 6-2 on the Hot 100, surpassing its prior No. 5 high. Following the Sept. 27 premiere of its official video, the song drew 24.2 million streams, up 16%, and sold 5,000, up 30%, in the week ending Oct. 3. It also scored 52.2 million in airplay audience (up less than 1%).
With the song’s flight, Eilish ties her second-highest Hot 100 rank, last reached in November 2020, among her seven top 10s:
No. 1 peak, one week, Aug. 24, 2019, “Bad Guy” No. 2 (to date), Oct. 12, 2024, “Birds of a Feather” No. 2, Nov. 28, 2020, “Therefore I Am” No. 5, June 1, 2024, “Lunch” No. 6, Aug. 15, 2020, “My Future” No. 8, Nov. 30, 2019, “Everything I Wanted” No. 10, May 15, 2021, “Your Power”
“Birds of a Feather” concurrently tops the multimetric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs charts for a ninth week each.
The Weeknd, Playboi Carti Debut at No. 3
The Weeknd and Playboi Carti’s “Timeless” clocks in with a No. 3 Hot 100 debut, marking The Weeknd’s highest career bow. Released Sept. 27, the track opens with 28.6 million streams, 5.1 million in airplay audience and 6,000 sold in its first week.
The Weekend earns his 19th top 10 and Playboi Carti, his fifth. The collaboration also launches at No. 1 on Streaming Songs, where the acts lead for a fourth and second time, respectively.
Additionally, “Timeless” enters at No. 1 both the multimetric Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts. The Weeknd now claims nine and 12 leaders on the respective charts; Playboi Carti collects his second No. 1 on the former and his first on the latter.
The Weeknd and Playboi Carti previously charted alongside one another with “Popular,” also with Madonna. The single hit No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs, No. 14 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, No. 29 on Streaming Songs and No. 43 on the Hot 100 last year.
Rest of the Top 10: 'I Had Some Help' & More Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, falls 2-4 on the Hot 100, following six weeks at No. 1 beginning upon its debut in May. Sabrina Carpenter boasts three songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 for a sixth consecutive week. “Espresso” slips to No. 5 from its No. 3 high, having become her first top 10; “Taste” holds at No. 9, after it debuted at its No. 2 best; and “Please Please Please” drops 8-10, after it became her first No. 1 in June. Thanks to the trio of hits – all from Carpenter’s album Short n’ Sweet, which rebounds for a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 – she has become one of seven acts, dating back to The Beatles, that have tripled up in the top 10 for six consecutive weeks or more. Click here for a full rundown. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile” backtracks 5-6 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 3, and Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” falls to No. 7 from its No. 4 Hot 100 high. Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control,” which led the Hot 100 for a week in March, descends 7-8. It also ties for the sixth-most weeks spent in the top 10 over the chart’s history: 57 weeks, “Blinding Lights,” The Weeknd, 2020-21 44, “Stay,” The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber, 2021-22 41, “Last Night,” Morgan Wallen, 2023-24 41, “Levitating,” Dua Lipa, 2021 39, “Circles,” Post Malone, 2019-20 38, “Lose Control,” Teddy Swims, 2024 38, “As It Was,” Harry Styles, 2022-23 37, “Heat Waves,” Glass Animals, 2021-22 Plus, “Lose Control” logs a 60th total week on the Hot 100. It’s just the 28th entry to reach the milestone, of the over 31,000 hits that have ever appeared on the chart. (Listed above, “Heat Waves” spent a record 91 weeks on the survey, followed by “Blinding Lights,” with 90.)

Happy to see Billie up to #2. Not sure chances of going to #1 in future, but hoping it may sneak a week in somehow.

I both enjoy ABS(T) and want it to start sliding down the charts.

I know it's unlikely to happen, but it would be poetic if "Birds of a Feather" dethrones "A Bar Song (Tipsy) off #1, considering it's also Billie Eilish with "Bad Guy" ended the 19-week reign of "Old Town Road" at #1 5 years ago

Most weeks in the top 2: 25 As It Was 21 Stay 21 Last Night 21 All I Want For Christmas Is You 19 Old Town Road "AIWFCIY" will surely match the record this season, and more than likely will take the record on its own. So, that's another record to watch.
