Even if streams continue to crash throughout the week, I think Weeknd & Carti are still gonna debut Top 5 at least, sales should push it over the top. Shaboozey's radio is what's really hard to catch up to unfortunately, both Timeless and Die With A Smile could have great streams (the latter has been streaming very well for weeks now) but can't compete with A Bar Song's radio. I think AM will help more than Spotify through the week. All Red was starting to tank on the former at this point of its week, and still managed to debut at 15, so with Timeless still holding on while also having a little bit of radio, a top 10 debut is basically locked. Top 5 depends on if Spotify streams continue to be decent. It’s a shame that radio holds this much weight to this day, otherwise DWAS could’ve been at #1 and Timeless could easily debut at #2.

I did not realize Dawn FM underperformed to such a ridiculous extent. I heard “Take My Breath”, “Sacrifice” and “Out of Time” played so much at my work that I figured they were pretty successful, I didn’t know only two made it to the top 20. "Take My Breath" only reached #6 but had decent longevity (20 weeks, Top 10 on pop radio, made the YE chart), "Sacrifice" debuted at #11 during album release week and then cratered, meanwhile "Out of Time" debuted at #32 during album release week and then I don't think made it further than #95 as a single. Still extremely unfortunate given that Out of Time was such a great song, and I know I’m not the only one to say Less Than Zero should’ve been a single, but who knows if it will get it’s Die For You moment in 5 years…?

Next week Hurry Up Tomorrow will equal Dawn FM's Top 20 hits I did not realize Dawn FM underperformed to such a ridiculous extent. I heard “Take My Breath”, “Sacrifice” and “Out of Time” played so much at my work that I figured they were pretty successful, I didn’t know only two made it to the top 20. Is There Someone Else is over 700 million streams on spotify, Take my Breath has over 600 million with both versions combined, Out Of Time is near half a billion and Sacrifice is over 400 million. In general the album tracks actually stream better than After Hours' - it's just that the album didn't have any smash hits. While it's performing very well in the long run and has multiple sleeper hits (ITSE will probably cross a billion streams on spotify in a year) it's rollout was terrible. It didn't have anything that could appeal to and mobilize hip-hop listeners the way that Heartless did for AH or Timeless will probably do for this album (Best Friend could have been that song if it weren't the worst on the album), neither did it have anything that did well enough on the radio. I'd argue that the lead single should've wither been Gasoline or Is There Someone Else. The first is the most "toxic" song on the album, and while for some people it may sound bizarre after the first listen, it's definitely a grower. Is There Someone Else is a proven sleeper hit and it would've done well on both the radio and streaming. R&B was on a wave around the time that DFM dropped so it could've rode it well

Refreshing to see DaBaby in the top 10 again That's just the album charts. He has no songs charting on the Apple Music or Spotify singles charts

On an aside, without ABS, would IHSH be getting close to the all-time weeks at #1 record? Would be like 17ish now? It would have 16 weeks at #1 as of now, and by this chart week it would have 18. So yeah without A Bar Song it would've broken the record, probably ending with 20 weeks and then Wallen replaces himself with Love Somebody.

I know Gaga’s new album is just a soundtrack for a movie but the fact that Bruno has 6 songs charting on global Spotify while gaga as none except for the collab is very telling… I’m really interested to see her numbers for the new song dropping this October.. it's a shame how Happy Mistakes didn't chart.. i want it to be the HIT of the "companion album" as for the jazz/standards tracks? even most of the fanbase just played those once or not at all

Refreshing to see DaBaby in the top 10 again It's refreshing to see a man who made homophobic remarks just this decade, slapped a woman, has pled guilty to battery of someone else, and has had many other charges back on the top 10? Interesting take.

Sure, but no need to quote him with all of that when he was simply a stat/ music that wasn't related to DaBaby's personal issues. It's fine, just something I observed, that's why I included the "we" cause I do it as well unnecessarily.

The visuals are so confusing this era, I don't really understand what he's trying to do. The whole album is about personal growth but then we get this Metro Boomin/Future ass music video that doesn't connect story wise to the last one. And both music videos don't connect with the visuals he's showed off in the live performances, particularly the outfit. He's constantly in this black and gold robe get up in his recent concerts but in DITF video he's dressed like Dawn FM Abel and this one he just dragged the same fit he wore in the We Don't Trust You videos out of the closet. Thematically it doesn't make any sense which is bizarre knowing how concise both After Hours and Dawn FM were visually. Hoping this all makes sense eventually.

Honestly I know we're all giving it a pass because of it's nature and content but the Gaga Harlequin album is a massive missfire commercially.
I think it's also time to give up the idea that the "trilogy" thing with the Weeknd ever made any sense. Some of the AH videos connected nicely but past that it was always just marketing to try to connect the two later projects with his current career peak.

Dawn FM thematically connects neatly with After Hours, it's arguably more connected than the original trilogy was

I mean do we expect covers of pop standards to chart well? Was Love For Sale a commercial missfire as well?

No but this project feels like the noise/hype just went away once people heard it. We'll see if it matches the 41k Love for Sale did, and probably we can rule out the 131k that Cheek to Cheek did back in the day.
The movie could in theory propel it up the charts once it opens. But so far the numbers we've gotten are tiny.

Harlequin is quite obviously something she made for fun. Wasn't created for mainstream success, hence no music videos or radio deals

Honestly I know we're all giving it a pass because of it's nature and content but the Gaga Harlequin album is a massive missfire commercially. Depends on whether there were expectations of it doing huge numbers though. You can't misfire something that you didn't intend to fire in the first place... or something lol. I think people here and on social media like to make A = B = C = D across all artists but so many people to forget/ignore context, situation, nuance when it comes to comparing how different albums play out.

The vinyl isn’t even available anywhere but her website. I don’t think it’s commercial performance is any indication of anything.

She will probably get the #2 peak. Hopefully, they'll do something with WILDFLOWER next, they shouldn't ignore the potential that song has.

Especially with the tour starting and Wildflower almost being top 10 on AM, they shouldn’t mess that opportunity for “Wildflower” to at least get a bigger peak.
