I don't think Morgan unto himself is guaranteed a #1 debut, but this song sounds huge to me. Like it has the potential to be the biggest crossover hit of his career. I can see it coming out of the gate really strong at multiple radio formats, streaming and sales. Knocking Bar Song off is a tall order, but he definitely has the potential with the right song. I wonder if they'll go the "Last Night" route and push it to pop first and then country shortly after (presumably after "Lies Lies Lies" hits #1). that makes sense... I could see a big maybe pop deal push to see "from the same artist who brought you IHSH" type thing

I guess and smile snippets are better and more originals. Love somebody will definitely be more successful than lies lies lies for sure.

Ughhh, don’t make me think about ABS being like a 17 week #1 just to get knocked off by another 17 week #1 from Morgan. I’m sick of the country trend (unless it’s cowboy carter related lol).

Of course, Pour Me A Drink is #1 at Country radio and Guy For That is starting its climb over there too, but nothing else from the album at pop radio.

It seems like the hack to get a long running #1 hit is just make a song that appeals to pop and country radio listeners. Unfortunately it didn't work out for Beyonce because I like Texas Hold 'Em the most out of all the pop/country mega hits this year.

It's been very intriguing seeing how much Short n' Sweet is mimicking the success of Sour. Sour scored 3 mega hits: Good 4 U (24 weeks in the top 10), Drivers Licence (16 weeks in the top 10) and Deja Vu (15 weeks in the top 10). Based on midweek predictions, Sabrina will have 3 songs in the top 10 this week for the 7th consecutive week: Espresso (25th week in the top 10), Please Please Please (18th week in the top 10) and Taste (7th week in the top 10).
Both albums are also fairly short listens (Sour with 11 songs and Short n' Sweet with 12 songs) and are the star-making albums of both acts. Very intriguing, indeed.

This nonsense with Tipsy is annoying... at this rate it might pass Old Town Road.

Although I actually like A Bar Song (and didn't like Old Town Road), I am ok with the latter holding the record, because it just "felt" a lot bigger and much more of an event song, and statistically had a comparatively much larger points total during most of its run (though that was of course before UGC was removed).

I wonder if flower will ever crack the top three of the overall streaming chart every time someone mentions Billie's achievement, there you are with your bitterness. Serious question here, what would it change if the song peaks at #3? what's with that "top 3 on streaming' obsession? lol. "lovely" never charted on the streaming chart, and it's eligible for Diamond and soon will be the most streamed song by a female artist in history, but I guess it's a fail because it never peaked inside the top 3 on streaming, or the chart overall.

i wonder if fridayteenage will ever stop being this bitter towards Billie, it would be better to put this much effort into stream Taylor's recent album cause the only song left in the TOP 200 will be one from 2019, not one single song from TTPD.

only today have I discovered that lovely has over 3 billion streams on spotify. pre-pandemic Khalid is truly something that we'll never see again. Why did he drop off so hard after his first three albums? I've listened to his latest project when it dropped and it's really good. genuinely how did this happen

Whenever the hardcore Swifties find a new target. Charli's got the remix album in a couple of days, but Billie's on it so she'll likely still catch a few fridayteenage strays.

#1 and #3 on AM is great and all, but still that's not top 3 on overall streaming.
Also, if CHIHIRO reaches 20 weeks on the Hot 100 (this week probably), I think HTHAS might be the first album since Morgan's "One Thing at a Time" to have at least four songs with 20+ weeks on the chart.

^ Drake came close to doing it with his latest album but the 4th song only spent 19 weeks on the Hot 100. Oh well.

^Luke Combs could have the record if he didn't move on to a new album already.

chappell has a solid shot and that's w/o GLB (so far). hot to go - 18 weeks, #15 Pink pony club - 16 weeks, #31 red wine - 18 weeks, #66 casual - 15 weeks, #74
it'll be months away, but I assume Sabrina will too.

I agree. I know there are people here who abhor this kind of "vibes"-y talk, but to me Old Town Road "feels" correct as record-holder in a way that I'm not confident A Bar Song would. Anyway, it'll all be irrelevant if "All I Want For Christmas With You" gets to the record in the next few years

I’d like to see a rotation of Christmas songs at #1 — Santa Tell Me, Last Christmas and Feliz Navidad.

on Spotify, for weeks charting in the top 200: old town road remix, 242 million, 14 weeks top 10 old town road, 138 million, 7 weeks top 10 =380 million, 21 weeks top 10
a bar song (thus far) 334 million, 19 weeks top 10
...Santa Tell me isn't even top 10 yet. I don't see why it would be #1. Jingle Bell Rock #3 Last Christmas #4 A Holly Jolly Christmas #4 Most Wonderful Time #5

#2. Last Night - 290 points w/ 189,000 units (5.58M total units) #1. A Bar Song (Tipsy) - 270 points w/ 168,000 units (6.08M total units)

Off topic, but I wonder when All I Want for Christmas Is You will lose some steam on the charts. I’d like to see a rotation of Christmas songs at #1 — Santa Tell Me, Last Christmas and Feliz Navidad. For one, I don't think it will be a case of "AIWFCIY" losing steam as much as it will be other songs gaining steam. At any rate, we've already seen it happen some as "RATCT" had more weeks at #1 last season than "AIWFCIY" (and had been gaining momentum in previous seasons), so that may continue this season. Also, some other songs have hit new peaks over the last season or two ("Santa Tell Me" being one). Right now the biggest 'issue' is that the more classic/older holiday songs like "RATCT" and "Jingle Bell Rock" have the airplay advantage, but also a streaming advantage because of that 'Christmas Classics' playlist. "AIWFCIY" is classic enough to also have a lot of airplay, and it's able to compete in streaming. I think it's going to take Spotify adding a 'Modern Christmas Classics' playlist or radio completely dying out for some big changes to happen.
