Order of good music released this year:
Green Day Beck QOTSA Garbage NIN Weezer and soon... Whites Stripes Billy Corgan and Foo Fighters! and COLDPLAY! and OASIS!
it's like 1996 all over again (for the most part) :o

Billy Corgan is probably one of my all-time least favorites. You have bad taste.

Because he doesn't like one artist? That's a generalization if I ever read one.

I think my friend is going to cry tomorrow when I tell him. He's not into music like me, but he loves Foo Fighters. He relies on me for music info he wants, and when I told him they're coming out with a double album this year, he ran to a cpu to find out when it comes out, but it wasn't up yet.
Can't wait to hear this... it should be great!

You can't say that. You can say he doesn't have good taste but not that he has bad taste because he didn't mention what he did like.

Because you would know. But you wouldn't expect any less from someone with the username Adore. Corgan was tolerable with the Pumpkins around him. He was almost likeable on that New Order track from a few years ago. He sounded almost normal in Zwan. But solo? I'm skeptical at best.

Look, it's not like Adore's an a**hole. People need to take his comments with a grain of salt. I mean, yeah, he pissed some people off the first time he said something like that, but he seems like he's a good enough guy since then. Lighten up. You wouldn't expect any less from someone with the username Adore. Come on, title of 4th Smashing Pumpkins album, people.

LOL. I don't mind really, and I agree with Adore about that particular thing... I mean, I see where he's coming from and all. Actually, that was the first thing I noticed about his name.
I know that I'm glad that there's someone on here who seems like they like Corgan even more than I do these days.
On the other hand, I was shocked when I heard that the Foos were making a double album. They were one of the least likely artists. Although I wasn't familiar with NIN enough to anticipate The Fragile before it was out, I thought it wasn't that surprising.

I like it. It will probably be another song to explode at Alternative.

I like it. It will probably be another song to explode at Alternative. Oh, unquestionably it'll explode. Foo Fighters are one of the few existing "staple artists" to the format, that is, artists who consistently have had strong showings through the eras, and earning a #1 from their last effort shows they still have no real sign of wear, despite a modest continuing downward spiral in record sales. Though, and I may be wrong, but I think "One By One" failed to reach the one million mark in record sales, and if that is the case is the first Foo Fighters album to do so, their sales declines have been much more modest in comparison to most other once-famed Alternative acts like limpbizkit, P.O.D and Pearl Jam. But listeners love Foo Fighters and are loyal to their brand of individualized post-grunge sound. And because it seems Dave Grohl is insisting that "In Your Honor" will be their "definitive record", it seems like they're prepared to round up all the bases, from regenerating their heavier sound to reaching out like they'll do on the Norah Jones-complemented "Virginia Moon". Count on "Best Of You" to have a hot shot debut. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

KNDD played this just now. My first impression was that it's possibly their best song melodically, but it felt like it was dragging on too long. The song felt like it was about 5 minutes and when you think it's over they tack on one more chorus.
I don't know about their album though. I really want it since I already have three of their first four, but if it's a double album, that means it'll probably be in the vicinity of $19 or $20. Hopefully it'll be on sale for a decent price (plus it's coming out on my birthday :)) so we'll see.

Out of the seemingly never ending string of blockbuster singles coming out from big-name Alternative artists in the last few months, this is the first one that I can say I'm not at least slightly disappointed in.

This. Kicks. A**. Period.
And, for some reason, interest in Foo (at least in my area) has exploded. With the comeback of other 90's artists, I think that, despite the fact that it's a double album, it'll sell extremely well; maybe better than One By One

Well I used to think that with double albums, until I realized that it's actually a pretty good deal. It's like you're buying half of that twice for the album. I know that of the blockbuster singles, the only one I found myself a bit disappointed in was "Why Do You Love Me", as well as its accompanying album, which I think is their weakest to date. I am looking forward to hearing this. I personally thought that One by One was an underappreciated album.

All of the "blockbuster" singles have been a slight disappointment to me. Don't get me wrong, I like all of them (with the exception of the horrid Beverly Hills), but I expected more from the bands (esp. Garbage... Why Do You Love Me was kinda week).
This is a pretty cool song, though a tad repetitive. Interested in their album. A lot of great new albums coming over the summer.

Did this song get 250+ spins on its first DAY? :o
Because I'd checked the day before and the only song they were playing that was considered current from Foo was Low.
This song is going #1 no questions asked.
