Last year, Rihanna Featuring Jay-Z's "Umbrella" zoomed 64-1, besting the 35-1 move of Ricky Martin Featuring Meja's "Private Emotion" back in 2000. That record was broken in less than a year, as the previous holder was 98ΒΊ's "The Hardest Thing," which moved 33-1 also in 1999. By the way, I have compiled my Hot 100 chart for almost 21 years.

Yes, I started it in January 1987. It has always been based on personal taste, although for the past nine weeks, the methodology changed, and now me and my couple compile the chart. We both give points to the songs, and then come up with the Hot 100.

On my 8/4/08 chart, Darius Rucker goes from 4 to 1 with Don't Think I Don't Think About It (and spends two weeks @#1). My charts have been around for 16 weeks now.

Two songs have jumped 23-1 on my personal chart; "What If I Said" by Anita Cochran and Steve Wariner did it in 1998 and "Can't Live A Day (DJ Tiesto Mix)" did so in 2002.
Honorable mention goes to "Silence (Sanctuary Mix)" by Delirium, which had a 35-3 jump in 1999.

David Guetta & Nicki Minaj - Turn Me On (3-1) LOL. Only a two spot jump. All my other #1s either started there ("Domino" was my very first #1 ever) or moved up to #1 from #2.

It's only a ten position chart, so I'm listing the 7 songs that debuted at #1. It seems to happen every few years. Not sure if my very first chart counts, but I included it.
1. You May Be Right β Nirvana β November 2002 2. Axel F β Crazy Frog β June 2005 3. Born This Way β Lady Gaga β February 2011
Tove Lo moved from #14 to #1 in 2014 - thanks to a Pulse Danger Zone Game. The next week, the chart reset itself and "The Walker" moved from #20 back to #1.

I can't believe I didn't think to edit this. Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" not only hold the record for fastest climb to the top, but also the biggest jump to the top. She jumped from #7 to #1 on her third week.

This hasn't happened yet, but there is a big possibility Oh Sailor will jump from #71 to #1 this next week on my chart.

Airplanes ft. Hayley Williams - B.o.B. #48 to #1 on my 50-position chart. Still room to beat it if anything ever goes #1 from #49 or #50!

Weird that I notice this now because on my chart this week @ www.chart.themaxonline.net, KT Tunstall made a big leap to #1 from #28 so it got me curious as to what the record was so I looked.
The Top 5 is listed at the site. Nelly Furtado moved 43-1 in 2004 with 'Try', giving her the record! That post was from 2006. Since then: β’ 80-1 | Owl City - Fireflies [2009] β’ 78-1 | Ray LaMontagne & The Pariah Dogs - Beg Steal Or Borrow [2010] β’ 49-1 | Kate Nash - Foundations [2007] β’ 43-1 | Nelly Furtado - Try [2004] β’ 34-1 | Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen [2012] β’ 30-1 | I Was A Fool - Tegan and Sara [2013] β’ 28-1 | KT Tunstall - Other Side Of The World [2006]

My current record is the 5 to 1 jump of Delta Goodrem's "Heart Hypnotic". Second best goes to both Ellie Goulding's "Figure 8" and Imagine Dragons's "Radioactive" as it rebounded back to the top. Both had a jump from number 3 to 1.

Radioactive - Imagine Dragons 35-1 Explanation: the new remix feat. Kendrick Lamar. It stayed for 2 weeks, and then feel to 11. It was very strange.

Say Something - A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera #48-#1
Story: literally THE DAY before the Xtina version came out, I saw this on the top 300 on iTunes (apparently it was on Dancing with the stars?) and I LOVED IT, it got to #48 within a day. The next day, I wake up and I see it at #2 on iTunes and I'm like "OMG I LOVE THIS SONG HOW DID IT GET SO HIGH ON ITUNES!!??" That's when I realized that Xtina was featured in it, and I thought that version was OK, but I LOVED the A Great Big World only version sooooooo much more. I still credit Xtina, but she only gets 20% credit for this song. After the Xtina version came out, I had bought 2 versions of the song, and this easily became my #1 song the next week.
On a top 50 chart, a 48-1 jump is huge.
