Mariah Carey's "Through The Rain" sounds like Allure's "Last Chance".
Mariah wrote and produced both tracks so maybe that has something to do with it.

The opening of Madonna's "Holiday" sounds just like the opening of Dynasty's "I've Just Begun To Love You".

Two pairs of Rick Springfield songs sound a lot alike. First, there's the two hits from "Working Class Dog": "I've Done Everything For You" and "Love Is Alright Tonite" (the fact that they were released back-to-back may have had something to do with why the latter of the two did not do as well as the former). Then, there's "What Kind Of Fool Am I" and "Love Somebody". Those don't sound as much alike as the first two songs, but there is a similarity, especially in the lead-in to the choruses. WKOFAI also sounds a lot like "If You Could Read My Mind" by Gordon Lightfoot and "Greatest Love Of All" by Whitney Houston. Speaking of Whitney Houston, she has a pair of songs that sound similar: the album cut from her first release, "All At Once" and her 1987 #1 "Didn't We Almost Have It All". One more thing: about a month back, I asked you to guess which two Ronnie Milsap songs I think sound alike. Well, time's up: "(There's) No Gettin' Over Me" and "Any Day Now".

There are so many examples of similar songs, but I can hardly think of any right now. The verse of Janet Jackson's "Let's Wait Awhile" is identical to that of America's "Today's the Day", I believe (or was it "Daisy Jane"?). I believe Daisy Jane is the one you're thinking of. If you really listen to the melodies of both songs, you should see where I find the similarities.

Has anyone noticed any similarities between Mya's "Fallen" and J Lo's "I"m Glad"?

"Powerless" by Nelly Furtado kind of sounds like "Send Me on My Way" by Rusted Root when she says "Say What You Want."

Tupac featuring the Notorious B.I.G. "Runnin' (Dyin' To Live)" (produced by Eminem) has some of the same or similar sounds to Eminem: "8 Mile" (probably produced by Eminem also).

The part after the chorus in Fefe Dobson: "Take Me Away" has a sound that sounds like Stone Sour: "Inhale." As I asked somebody in Nostalgia, the end of Green Day: "Longview" sounds like Blind Melon: "No Rain."

Who else here thinks that Santana's "Why Don't You & I?" written by Chad Kroeger sounds like a Latinized version of Creed's "One Last Breath"?
Consider these hints:
1) Both songs start out with an opening riff, that get repeated after the first chorus.
2) The way the songs are sung at the chorus, particularly "I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking, maybe six feet ainβt so far down!" compared to "We'll take on the world and be together forever. Heads we will, Tails we'll try again.β And once again on βAnd fly to the moon and straight on to Heaven, cause without you they're never gonna let me in.β
The only thing that is different is the bridge, really. In Santanaβs song it is a solo, with Creedβs it is more lyrics.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I'd also like to add the following:
Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life" and Linkin Park's "In The End"
Both have piano riffs at the beginning and end, both have metal guitars without solos, both have raps through the bridge. Only differences: male vocals for Linkin Park, female vocals for Evanescence, with the additional raps going through the chorus for "Bring Me To Life" while in the verses for "In The End"
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I've never heard that one.

What version of "Bring Me to Life" do you have that has rap in the chorus? I've never heard that one. I guess "Wake me up... I can't wake up... Save me" somehow counts as rap... I dunno. ??? The fact that the tunes and lyrics of both songs are completely different makes 'em not sound alike to me. :)

Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston - "When You Believe'; Christina Aguilera - "The Voice Within"
The choruses don't sound alike, but the verses really do.

What about Kelly Clarkson's "Low" and Kina's "Girl From The Gutter?" I don't remember what "Girl From The Gutter" sounds like, and I don't know if Kelly's fans know it either.

Robert Randolph & the Family Band - "Soul Refreshing" Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians - "What I Am"
The bridge of one sounds like the bridge of the other backwards.

I could just as well say that "Bright Lights" sounds like "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)".

Stacie Orrico's "Stuck" sounds like Play's "Cinderella". I'm really not sure which came first.

The instrumental partin the choruses of Jefferson Starship's "No Way Out" sounds a lot like the beginning of "Separate Ways" by Journey.
